The model of growing mulberry and raising silkworms has been developed by the people of Hoa Son commune for many years. Currently, the people have joined together to establish the Professional Group of Growing Mulberry and Raising Silkworms in the old Yang Reh commune (now Hoa Son commune) with 12 members.

After its establishment, the group received support from the Farmers' Association to borrow 100 million VND for 4 members to invest in production. The group also established a savings group (each member contributed 500,000 VND/quarter) to create capital for members to borrow and help each other in production.

Ms. Nguyen Van Ly, Head of the Professional Group of Mulberry Cultivation and Sericulture, shared that some members were initially confused when implementing the model, but once they mastered the technique, the work became easier and more leisurely. On average, each member raises 1-3 boxes of silkworm seeds each batch, and takes care of the silkworms for 15 days before they can sell them. Each box of silkworm seeds yields 50-60kg of cocoons, with prices ranging from 180,000-200,000 VND/kg, bringing members a profit of 8-10 million VND/box.

In the locality, there is a point for purchasing cocoons and providing quality seeds, so the members of the group can concentrate on the input and output sources for the products. Thereby, bringing stable monthly income to the people.

Recently, the Farmers' Association Fund (formerly Krong Bong district) has supported 149 members to borrow capital to implement 73 production and business projects, with a total capital of 3.8 billion VND. The projects prioritized for capital allocation are models that are highly appreciated for their prospects such as cattle breeding, silkworm farming, fruit tree planting, etc.

Many lychee growing models of people bring economic efficiency.

The lychee growing cooperative group (THT) in Ea Na commune has 35 members, covering a total area of ​​over 30 hectares. The members are trained in food hygiene and safety, transfer of scientific and technical advances, and instructions on proper use of pesticides... to help take care of the garden more effectively.

Mr. Tran Huu Qua (Ea Na commune, Dak Lak province) has replaced 1.5 hectares of old coffee trees with a variety of plants such as sachi, custard apple, lychee, passion fruit... Mr. Qua said that he built a forest garden model to create purely natural products. This model does not require much investment cost, the products are popular with customers so the selling price is also higher than the general level. Each year, his family earns about 200 million VND.

Many domestic and foreign delegations came to visit the coffee production and processing model.

Ea H'leo Macadamia Agricultural Production, Trade and Service Cooperative (HTX) has 31 members and is associated with 58 households, cultivating 150 hectares of coffee and macadamia. At the end of 2024, the Cooperative signed an official contract to export macadamia products to the Korean market.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cooperative, to meet the requirements of partners, exported goods must be of uniform quality, carefully packaged, and meticulously processed from the production, preliminary processing, and processing stages, so the Cooperative must meticulously carry out each stage.

Aiming for long-term cooperation, the Korean partner also requested the cooperative to clarify more information from the garden, care process, diary recording and new certifications and results for the products.

The export market is wide open, especially for macadamia products. Therefore, it creates jobs and income for many farmers in the area. Thereby, helping people gradually change their production mindset. Previously, many households still followed old customs, but now they have learned together, shared experiences, and boldly applied techniques in production.

Ea Tu Fair Agricultural Service Cooperative cooperates with 350 households growing coffee in the old Ea Tu commune (now Tan An ward, Dak Lak), with a total cultivated area of ​​320 hectares, of which 60.4 hectares are planted with high-quality coffee. Mainly ethnic minority households.

In 2024, the Cooperative signed an official coffee export contract with a partner in the US. Two export orders with a volume of 1,250 kg of roasted coffee beans and exported 2,500 kg of roasted coffee beans to the Chinese market through an intermediary unit.

Mr. Tran Dinh Trong, Director of the Cooperative, shared that these were the first direct export orders of the unit, which were highly appreciated by partners for the quality of coffee. This was an initial success, helping the unit to be more confident in the quality of its products and opening up plans to promote cooperation in official coffee export, contributing to spreading local agricultural products in the international market.
