Because it is a water bottle, the environment inside the bottle is often humid. This is a favorable environment for bacteria and mold to grow, according to Verywell Fit.

Regular cleaning of the bottle will help reduce bacteria growth in the bottle.

Most of the bacteria and mold in the bottle will be transmitted from hands, mouth and some dirt that comes into contact with the bottle mouth. During use, the surface of the bottle will easily develop small cracks. Bacteria and mold can accumulate and grow in these cracks, making cleaning the bottle more difficult.

It is important to clean your water bottle properly and regularly. The easiest way is to use dish soap. If the bottle gets wet, dry it immediately to prevent the humid environment that causes bacteria and fungi to grow.

Bacteria will grow more strongly if plastic bottles contain sugary drinks such as fruit juice, sweetened milk or sports drinks. Therefore, after use, users need to wash the bottle immediately.

Plastic bottles that are not cleaned for many days will easily accumulate grease and mold. In this case, clean the bottle with vinegar. First, dilute the vinegar with water in a ratio of 1 part vinegar to 4 parts water, pour this solution into the bottle, shake well and leave overnight. The next morning, pour the vinegar solution out and rinse with water.

Additionally, after each day of use, people should make it a habit to pour out any remaining water in the bottle. If possible, wash the bottle with dish soap, according to Verywell Fit.
