The Ministry of Education and Training has just announced a draft circular regulating the working regime for teachers of continuing education institutions to solicit comments from relevant agencies, organizations and individuals. One of the highlights of the draft circular is to overcome the situation of not arranging summer vacation for continuing education teachers.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, there are currently no regulations on working regimes specifically for teachers working in continuing education facilities. In continuing education facilities, there are both general education teachers and vocational teachers. Meanwhile, there are currently regulations on working regimes specifically for general education teachers (general education teachers) and vocational teachers.
Therefore, the working regime of teachers at continuing education facilities is applied "flexibly" by these facilities. Summer vacation for continuing education teachers is not unified nationwide. Some places have summer vacation, some do not, some have 8 weeks vacation, some only 1 month vacation...
According to the draft circular that the Ministry of Education and Training is seeking comments on, all teachers at continuing education institutions are on summer vacation; the maximum summer vacation is 8 weeks, the minimum is 4 weeks. During the summer vacation, teachers participate in training and development according to the requirements of their job position, participate in high school graduation exams, enrollment, teach classes according to the training and development program, and educational activities of the center when summoned.
The draft circular also clearly stipulates working hours, annual leave, teaching hour norms, reduction of teaching hour norms and conversion of other activities into teaching hours for teachers at continuing education institutions. Basically, the draft circular sets out principles for determining the working regime of continuing education teachers to ensure consistency with regulations for general education teachers and university preparatory teachers.
