A fire broke out in a high-rise apartment building in the Eratown - Duc Khai building in Ho Chi Minh City, sending billowing black smoke into the air, causing residents to panic and flee to the ground floor.
Authorities in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City are investigating the cause of the fire at the Eratown - Duc Khai apartment building located in Phu My ward.
At around 7:30 p.m. today, residents discovered black smoke billowing from apartment 20, block A3 of this apartment building.
Within minutes, the apartment was engulfed in flames. The smoke column was tens of meters high.
At the same time, the fire alarm rang. Residents living in block A3 panicked and ran out through the stairs.
The Fire and Rescue Police of District 7 dispatched many specialized vehicles and soldiers to the scene. Firefighters divided into many directions to put out the fire and rescue people.
The fire was quickly brought under control.
The cause is being investigated by the authorities.
