On the afternoon of June 27, the Tax Department of Region I held the 6th conference to commend typical advanced models in the period 2020-2025 and review tax work in the first 6 months of 2025, and deploy tax work in the last 6 months of 2025.
In the first 6 months of 2025, the total state budget revenue is estimated at 375,891 billion VND, equal to 77.8% of the estimate, up 50.4% over the same period last year. Many revenue targets have been achieved and exceeded.
Tax debt management, inspection, anti-loss, administrative procedure reform, digital transformation, application of AI technology in management and communication to support taxpayers, etc. have all recorded outstanding results.
Many innovative solutions have been deployed such as using big data in business household management, promoting e-invoice risk control using chain algorithms and building a digital ecosystem to effectively serve and support taxpayers.
Implementing Decree No. 70/2025/ND-CP of the Government, in a short time, more than 9,000 business households in Hanoi and Hoa Binh have registered to use electronic invoices generated from cash registers, reaching over 180% of the assigned target.
As of June 2025, the Tax Department of Region I manages a total of 341,936 business households; of which 325,211 are in Hanoi and 16,725 are in Hoa Binh. Over 92% of business households and individuals have registered for electronic transactions. Total revenue from business households is estimated at VND 3,300 billion, an increase of 93% over the same period in 2024, reaching 65% of the annual estimate.
As of June 2025, the Tax Department has processed 52,700 personal income tax refund dossiers automatically, with an average processing time of 3 working days, shortening the time for handling administrative procedures by 50%.
At the conference, Director of the Tax Department Mai Xuan Thanh requested the Tax Department of Region I to proactively grasp the requirements of tasks in the period of arranging and operating the 2-level government model; promptly stabilize the organizational structure, clearly assign tasks, ensure tax management activities take place continuously, smoothly and effectively; implement resolutions of the Central and Government, and ensure to exceed the budget revenue estimate for 2025.
Along with that, strengthen the inspection and control of electronic invoices, risk management, focusing on areas with high risk of tax fraud, such as real estate, e-commerce, financial services, online business, etc.
