Urban beautification to welcome the new spring

In order to create the best conditions for activities to welcome the new year 2024, Phan Rang - Thap Cham City is urgently focusing on urban beautification work, creating a spacious, clean and beautiful landscape, ready to welcome the new spring of Giap Thin 2024.

For more than a month now, on the streets of Phan Rang - Thap Cham City, teams of workers working on green trees, lighting, urban sanitation... have been working urgently to contribute to bringing a joyful and clean spring to the city. At the roundabout area of April 16th Street intersecting with Thong Nhat Street, we recorded groups of workers diligently paving the sidewalks and installing decorative lights. The main route of April 16th Street is filled with spring colors thanks to the colorful decorative lighting system, rows of carefully tended date palm trees, and the highlight is the national flag project right at the beginning of the route.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy, Director of the Provincial Water Sector Capacity Building and ODA Project Implementation Board, said: Up to now, the board has handed over and completed the land for routes such as Cao Ba Quat, Quang Trung, Vo Nguyen Giap... Particularly for the roundabout area of April 16th and Thong Nhat streets, the units will make efforts to complete the construction and strive to complete and hand over the land by the end of January so that people can travel easily during Tet. In addition, the unit will focus on clearing the land for the area of Holy Tran Temple (Saint Pagoda), creating conditions for people to go on spring trips and enjoy the pagoda during Tet.

To prepare for the new year of Giap Thin 2024, Phan Rang - Thap Cham City directed agencies and units to focus on inspecting, reviewing, and removing banners and posters that have expired or have inappropriate content, causing loss of urban beauty. Along with that, the work of repairing and upgrading public lighting systems; renovating drainage systems, sidewalks, whitewashing urban tree bases, taking care of trees, and arranging flowers on main roads in the inner city were also urgently completed. Strengthening guidance and implementing well the treatment of urban environmental sanitation, waste collection, transportation and treatment activities; launching a general environmental sanitation campaign in 16 communes, wards and some public places; renovating and developing urban green areas throughout the city. In addition, to meet the entertainment needs of people in the central area and important traffic intersections, the city urgently renovated, repaired, and decorated many types of lights with brilliant colors, helping visitors feel the atmosphere of spring at night. Mr. Nguyen Hung in Thanh Son ward shared: This year, the city invested in Tran Phu street, installing a system of colorful decorative lights, everyone here is happy, excited, reminding each other to maintain public hygiene so that the city becomes brighter, greener, cleaner, and more beautiful.

Walking around the city, many streets are full of flowers, ornamental plants, bright red flags fluttering in the wind,... all creating joy and excitement for a new spring. In order to ensure traffic safety and serve the travel needs of people during the Lunar New Year, the City People's Committee has also carried out maintenance, repair, upgrade, and lane marking on the following streets: Tran Phu, Nguyen Van Cu, Ngo Gia Tu,...

Mr. Truong Vinh Quang, Deputy Director of the Public Service Management Board of Phan Rang - Thap Cham City, said: As the socio -economic center of the province, attracting many tourists and people to come and enjoy the Tet holiday, the city pays attention to urban beautification work. In 2023 alone, the city will implement 19 beautification projects with many items from planting trees, renovating lighting systems, repairing roundabouts, islets... with a total cost of about 10 billion VND. In order to promptly serve people to welcome the New Year of the Dragon 2024, the construction teams are working urgently to ensure the right schedule. Up to now, the projects have completed about 80% of the construction progress, striving to complete the urban beautification work by December 20. Besides beautifying the city to make it more brilliant, the city is also actively coordinating with relevant units to propagate to people to maintain public hygiene, contributing to building a green, clean and beautiful city.

The beautification of the city landscape not only serves the people's spring and Tet celebrations but also spreads and promotes the image of the young city of Phan Rang - Thap Cham as attractive, civilized and friendly to tourists.
