At the opening of the Congress, delegates heard a report on the results of the first session which took place on the afternoon of July 23.

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, comrade Tran Trung Hieu, Secretary of the Duc Trong Commune Party Committee, informed: During the past term, with the close and timely leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, the support and guidance of the provincial departments, agencies and branches, together with the efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of Lien Nghia Town and Phu Hoi Commune in the past, most of the targets on socio-economics, national defense, security, Party building and the political system were completed.

Of which, 10/11 main targets achieved and exceeded the plan; high-tech agriculture developed with 5,328 hectares; 22 OCOP products and 7 "Da Lat - Miraculous crystallization from good land" brands were recognized; Phu Hoi Industrial Park attracted 32 projects with a total registered capital of more than 2,247 billion VND.

Recognizing the role and position of Duc Trong commune in the overall development of the province, the 1st Party Congress of the commune determined the theme: "Strengthening the building of a clean and strong Party and political system; promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc; effectively exploiting resources for economic and social development; preserving the cultural identity of ethnic groups, ensuring national defense and security; determined to build Duc Trong commune to develop comprehensively and civilized". This is the goal to strive for, the driving force for the comprehensive development of the commune for the entire term 2025 - 2030.

Comrade Luu Trung Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune, reported on the review of the leadership and direction of the Party Executive Committee of the commune for the 2020 - 2025 term.

The 1st Congress of Duc Trong Commune Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, set out 16 targets; of which, there are 13 targets for socio-economic development, 3 targets for Party building and political system building.

Speaking at the Congress, comrade Tran Hong Thai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council emphasized: Duc Trong commune was established on the basis of merging Lien Nghia town and Phu Hoi commune, inheriting important development achievements and especially inheriting the entire technical and administrative infrastructure from the old political center of Duc Trong district. This is a great advantage, creating a solid foundation for development in the new period.

The commune has a particularly favorable geographical location as a strategic traffic junction of the region. Particularly important, the commune is located in the expanded urban planning of Da Lat, oriented to develop into a type III urban area by 2035, sharing regional functions with Da Lat.

Comrade Tran Hong Thai acknowledged and highly appreciated the important achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of the commune had achieved. In particular, he highly appreciated the spirit of solidarity, unity and outstanding efforts of the cadres, party members and people of the two localities of Lien Nghia and Phu Hoi during the merger process, ensuring the continuous and effective operation of the government apparatus.

Comrade Tran Hong Thai noted that the locality must have the aspiration and responsibility to create Duc Trong commune to become a driving force for the development of the whole region. With advantages in technical infrastructure and geographical location, the commune must not only develop for itself but also become a driving force for the development of the whole region.

This is not only a task before the Provincial Party Committee and the People, but also a responsibility and sentiment towards other communes, requiring the Party Executive Committee of the commune to have a high vision and great determination.
