National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man holds talks with Australian Senate President Sue Lines

On the afternoon of August 25, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man chaired the official welcoming ceremony for Australian Senate President Sue Lines on her official visit to Vietnam.

Immediately after the official welcoming ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Australian Senate President Sue Lines visited the Traditional Hall of the Vietnamese National Assembly and signed the Golden Book of Memories. Following that, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man held talks with Australian Senate President Sue Lines.

In the context of the cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Australian Parliament being constantly consolidated, developing well and strongly, the official visit to Vietnam by President of the Senate Sue Lines is of great significance, marking the more than 50-year journey of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries, contributing to deepening and further substantivizing the relationship between the two countries' legislative bodies, making this relationship an important pillar in the overall relationship between the two countries, commensurate with the Vietnam - Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, meeting the aspirations and practical interests of the people of the two countries, actively contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, friendship and development in the region as well as in the world.

Previously, Australian Senate President Sue Lines visited the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam and visited the Trang An scenic complex in Ninh Binh province with National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh.

During the visit, Australian Senate President Sue Lines is expected to meet with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; greet General Secretary and President To Lam; lay a wreath and pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum; attend the Vietnam - Australia Forum and visit and work in a number of localities in Vietnam, along with a number of other sideline activities.
