As one of the bright spots of the Quang Ninh education sector, Hon Gai High School (Ha Long Ward) has become a model for many years in building school culture associated with improving the quality of comprehensive education. The school always focuses on building a team of teachers with solid professional qualifications, dedicated to the profession, considering each teacher as an exemplary model of ethics, lifestyle and working style.
Extracurricular activities and experiences related to traditional education, history, and local culture such as learning about Ha Long Bay, Bach Dang stake field... are organized regularly to educate students about love of homeland and civic awareness.
Hon Gai High School also actively integrates major movements such as "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle", the movement to build "Friendly school, active students" into the educational program, creating a strong influence among all staff, teachers and students.
Ms. Vu Thi Phuong, Principal of Hon Gai High School, shared: The school always maintains a 100% high school graduation rate every year, in which the rate of students graduating with good and excellent grades is always at the top of non-specialized high schools in the province. The school has been ranked in the top 200 high schools with the highest average scores in university and college entrance exams nationwide for many consecutive years.
Building school culture is becoming one of the key tasks of the Quang Ninh education sector. With many creative and practical methods, schools in the province have been creating a positive, safe and friendly pedagogical environment, where each student is comprehensively developed in both knowledge and personality.
Accordingly, all educational institutions in the province have developed a Code of Conduct in schools suitable for each grade, level and actual conditions in the localities; and have propagated, disseminated and studied issues related to behavioral culture, cultural environment in families, schools and communities.
The team of administrators, teachers and staff in the school are regularly trained to improve their capacity, knowledge of cultural behavior and capacity to organize cultural education in schools.
Not only that, educational institutions pay attention to teaching and disseminating knowledge about Road Traffic Safety Law to students, helping to build traffic culture for them right from when they are still in school.
Teacher Nguyen Thi Khuyen, Principal of Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School (Viet Hung Ward) said: The school is located right next to National Highway 18A, so the school always pays great attention to ensuring traffic order and safety. To build a school traffic culture, we include the Road Traffic Law education lesson in regular school hours. During the lesson, teachers present specific and detailed traffic safety regulations and illustrate them with vivid images.
In highland schools, the work of awakening passion and pride in the beauty of traditional culture is also being focused on. Some schools have established Then singing and traditional arts clubs, Hat Nha To clubs in schools; integrated traditional cultural education into the subjects of Literature, History, Geography; regularly organized extracurricular activities such as: Competitions for collecting and presenting on culture, folk artifacts of ethnic groups; competitions for performing traditional costumes, games, ethnic cuisine...
Building a school culture is a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the province's education. When each school becomes a healthy, friendly and humane educational environment, the young generation will be fully equipped with knowledge and qualities to confidently step into the future, contributing to the development of the homeland.
