Miss Bao Ngoc's meaningful trip to the Climate Change Summit

Participating in ACYCS 2025 continues to mark a step forward in the journey to bring Gen Zero closer to the international community, before Bao Ngoc officially introduces the project at the 73rd Miss World contest.

Miss Bao Ngoc recently attended the ASEAN Children and Youth Summit on Climate Change (ACYCS 2025), taking place in Langkawi from September 2-4, co-organized by UNICEF and the Malaysian Ministry of Natural Resources and Sustainable Environment (NRES).

The conference is a forum that brings together many young delegates from ASEAN countries, aged 15-25, to exchange knowledge, share experiences and jointly develop innovative solutions to respond to climate change. This activity aims to promote the role of the young generation in shaping climate policy, enhancing community resilience and building a fair, green and inclusive ASEAN.

Within the framework of the conference, Miss Bao Ngoc participated as the founder of Gen Zero - the Youth for Sustainable Development organization. The representative of Vietnam said that at the thematic discussion sessions, she shared about the journey of Gen Zero, about community activities models in Vietnam and proposed international cooperation initiatives in the region. Bao Ngoc and experts and youth representatives from other countries discussed and discussed to find appropriate solutions to the problems of air pollution and saltwater intrusion in the countries.

Bao Ngoc also brought the story of saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta - her hometown - to international friends, so that the world can know more about a fertile delta in southern Vietnam that is facing the risk of being submerged by the sea in the future.

Bao Ngoc emphasized that this is not a story of the Mekong Delta or Vietnam alone, but a common global issue. Therefore, she hopes that the issue in the Mekong Delta will be noticed and call for joint action from the world. In addition, she will also participate in contributing to the common voice of ASEAN youth on climate, cultural exchange and connecting with international organizations at the conference to expand the network of action for sustainable development.

“This is a valuable opportunity for Gen Zero to learn and contribute to ASEAN’s common efforts. Participating in ACYCS 2025 helps us connect and create a strong youth network, working together to protect the green planet,” Bao Ngoc shared.

Before ACYCS 2025, Bao Ngoc also represented Gen Zero to speak at the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change - COP29 in Azerbaijan, and this coming November she will attend COP 30. In addition, Bao Ngoc also represented Vietnam to participate in many international events such as the 4th P4G conference and the ASEAN Future Forum.

Bao Ngoc was also the Vietnamese representative to chair the youth dialogue session with the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam last April; she is an active face in community volunteer activities. With her persistent contributions, she was honored as one of the 10 outstanding individuals nationwide to receive the National Volunteer Award in 2024.

Participating in ACYCS 2025 in Malaysia continues to mark a step forward in the journey to bring Gen Zero closer to the international community, before Bao Ngoc officially introduces the project at the upcoming 73rd Miss World pageant, where she will represent Vietnam to compete./.
