Grass grows wildly at the unfinished 30 billion VND kindergarten in Thanh Hoa

A kindergarten in Thanh Hoa with an investment capital of nearly 30 billion VND is under construction and has been abandoned for over a year, causing weeds to grow everywhere.

According to the people of Ha Trung commune ( Thanh Hoa province), Ha Dong Kindergarten was started in early 2023. However, when the project was almost completed, it suddenly stopped construction until now, leading to abandonment and waste.

According to the reporter's investigation, at the end of 2022, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Dong commune (old) approved the economic and technical report on the construction of Ha Dong Kindergarten.

The project has a scale of thousands of square meters with the following items: Two-story house for classrooms, office building, kitchen, school yard... Total estimated cost is more than 29 billion VND. The construction unit is Manh Phu Construction and Trade Company Limited.

The project was expected to overcome the difficulties and shortages at the old kindergarten upon completion. However, from the beginning of 2024, when more than 90% of the progress had been achieved, the project was suddenly suspended.

VietNamNet records show that the entire area of ​​land used for school construction has been surrounded by walls, inside are two-story buildings with the rough construction completed. In the school yard, weeds grow wildly…

The contractor representative said the project has reached about 90% of the volume, but the investor does not have the capital to pay so it is forced to temporarily stop.

“Currently, the contractor can still continue construction, but the locality is temporarily halting the project so it cannot be implemented yet. We hope the project will continue soon so that the children can have classrooms and avoid waste,” the contractor representative shared.

According to the leaders of Ha Trung commune, the Ha Dong Kindergarten project is invested by the People's Committee of Ha Dong commune (old). Currently, the project has to stop due to lack of capital.

“Before the new commune government came into operation, the locality reported the temporary suspension of construction of this project. We are reviewing all similar projects in the area to consider the funding source and feasibility of the project, then will report to the province for further guidance,” said the leader.
