On December 9, a clip was circulating on social media showing a traffic police officer using a special motorbike to transport a father carrying his young child who was having a seizure to the emergency room. The clip later received "a shower of compliments" from the online community.
According to the representative of the Cat Lai Traffic Police Team under the Traffic Police Department (PC08) of Ho Chi Minh City Police, the traffic police officer in the clip is Major Nguyen Minh Thai.
Ho Chi Minh City traffic police major took a child having a seizure to the emergency room.
Yesterday (December 8), at around 4:20 p.m., Major Thai was on duty directing traffic at the intersection of Mai Chi Tho and Luong Dinh Cua streets (An Phu ward, Thu Duc city, Ho Chi Minh city). A father with a panicked face, carrying his convulsive child, ran to the traffic police for help and was taken to the emergency room.
Major Nguyen Minh Thai immediately reported to the duty station and used a special vehicle to transport the father and son to Children's Hospital 2 for timely emergency treatment. Major Thai then returned to his duty position.
"At that time, I saw the child having a seizure, which could have been life-threatening, so without thinking much, I asked for advice and took the child to the hospital as quickly as possible...", Major Nguyen Minh Thai said.
The father was on the way to take his feverish baby (about 7 months old) to Children's Hospital 2 for observation when the child had a seizure. Because the traffic was slow and heavy at the time, the father became anxious and asked the traffic police for assistance.
