V-SAT is a computer-based university entrance assessment test organized by participating universities, coordinated by the National Center for Testing and Education Quality Assessment ( Ministry of Education and Training ), supporting and providing a question bank.
Adding a literature test, the 2025 V-SAT sample test has 8 independent tests
According to the National Center for Testing and Educational Quality Assessment, the V-SAT test is designed to assess candidates' abilities for the purpose of university admission.
The 2025 V-SAT test will be adjusted to suit the assessment direction of high school students' abilities according to the 2018 General Education Program, with high classification.
In 2025, this exam will include 8 independent subjects corresponding to subjects in the high school program including math, physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography, English and literature.
Thus, from 2025, the V-SAT exam will have an additional literature subject.
The test format is objective multiple choice for each subject, independently on the computer. The literature test is a combination of objective multiple choice and essay writing on the computer.
Depending on the purpose of using the exam results and admission wishes according to the school's admission blocks, candidates can register to take from 1 to 8 subjects.
The exam is organized in the form of a computer-based test lasting 90 minutes for math and literature; 60 minutes for the remaining subjects.
The four question formats in the exam include true/false multiple choice questions; four-choice objective multiple choice questions; matching multiple choice questions; and short answer or essay multiple choice questions.

18 higher education institutions to organize and use the V-SAT exam in 2025
In 2023, the V-SAT exam will be held for the first time, organized by 4 schools (including Ho Chi Minh City Banking University, University of Finance - Marketing, Saigon University and Ho Chi Minh City Open University) in coordination with the National Center for Testing and Education Quality Assessment.
In 2024, 10 universities signed a cooperation agreement to organize this exam.
In 2025, the organization and use of the V-SAT exam will be expanded to 18 higher education institutions nationwide, including:
Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, Ho Chi Minh City Banking University, Saigon University, University of Finance - Marketing, Ho Chi Minh City Open University,
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance, Van Lang University, Lac Hong University, Can Tho University, Dong Thap University, Tra Vinh University,
Vinh University, Hung Yen University of Technical Education, Banking Academy, Hanoi University of Construction, Duy Tan University and Thai Nguyen University.
Some universities have announced plans to reserve 10-40% of their total enrollment quota for all majors in 2025 for the V-SAT exam results admission method.
A representative of the National Testing Center and Education Quality Assessment said: "The test question bank is built according to a scientific process, applying modern theories and techniques of measurement and assessment science in education, ensuring reliability and validity.
The number of questions and sub-questions is large, ensuring objectivity and fairness in assessment.
In particular, in 2025 there will be changes in question formats and scoring methods to increase accuracy in candidate assessment.
According to the agreement of the schools participating in organizing and using the V-SAT exam results, this exam will be organized in many schools and the results will be recognized in common.
Accordingly, candidates can apply for admission using V-SAT results but do not have to go to the school they plan to apply to take the exam.
