Announcing the decision to recognize the Rector of Hanoi National University of Education for the 2025-2030 term

On September 11, 2025, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Decision No. 2588/QD-BGDDT, recognizing Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Son to continue holding the position of Rector of Hanoi National University of Education for the 2025-2030 term.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Son has held the following positions: Head of the Department of Educational Psychology, Vice Principal of Hanoi National University of Education, Principal of Hanoi National University of Education for the 2020-2025 term.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong expressed his joy that over the past years, Hanoi National University of Education has achieved many proud achievements. One of the most obvious evidences is the spirit of solidarity and unanimity towards building a common cause and building the school.

Congratulating Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Son on continuing to be trusted and assigned the important responsibility of Rector of Hanoi National University of Education, the Deputy Minister also emphasized the very high demands in the coming time, associated with the need for breakthroughs in education and training development in general and in higher education, especially in the pedagogical sector in particular.

According to the Deputy Minister, right from the first point of view, Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo clearly stated: "Deeply and fully understand and consistently implement the viewpoint that education and training is the top national policy, deciding the future of the nation" - demonstrating the particularly important role of education and training. In particular, the team of teachers is the decisive factor in the quality of education. Hanoi National University of Education is considered the "main machine", training a team of teachers at all levels for all regions of the country, from direct teaching, to management and many other positions...

With such a great and extremely heavy mission, the Deputy Minister hopes that Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Son, and the school's staff will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, collective intelligence and the 74-year tradition of building and growing of Hanoi National University of Education to excellently complete the tasks in the new period.

In his acceptance speech, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Son affirmed that he and the collective leadership, staff and lecturers will continue to practice the values that have been shaped in the school's history, which are: standards, creativity, pioneering; at the same time, realizing the school's training philosophy - training excellent teachers, scientists, experts with a humanistic spirit, modern thinking and action for community development.

In particular, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Son affirmed his efforts to strive for the goal of the school becoming a national key university to have new development space for fields that are traditional strengths, such as: teacher training, educational science, social sciences and humanities, basic sciences; to be similar to other universities in the world.

At the same time, to become a key pedagogical university to have a larger and more stable stature, worthy of the leading position in teacher training and in higher education; to better fulfill the school's mission, to spread professional and vocational values more strongly; also to overcome the old framework and its own limitations.

Hanoi National University of Education was officially established on October 11, 1951 under Decree No. 276/ND of the Ministry of National Education (now the Ministry of Education and Training). This is a key national and regional pedagogical university, training excellent experts who have made particularly important contributions to the education system and society through high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate research and cooperation training programs.

The school's strategy to 2030 is to have outstanding results in scientific and technological research, especially educational science, and training high-quality teachers at the national and international levels.

The school currently has 52 undergraduate training majors, including 36 pedagogical majors, 16 non-pedagogical majors, 56 master's degree training majors, and 44 doctoral training majors. The school has been granted a second-cycle quality accreditation certificate according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.
