Important practice session of Vietnamese volleyball for SEA Games 33

The 2025 Southeast Asian Volleyball Championship (SEA V.League) is considered an important rehearsal for both the Vietnamese men's and women's volleyball teams towards high ambitions at the 33rd SEA Games taking place in December this year in Thailand.

The Vietnamese men's volleyball team is competing in the first round of the SEA V.League in the Philippines, then moving to Indonesia to compete in the second round (from July 16 to 20). Meanwhile, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will participate in the first round of the SEA V.League from August 1 to 3 in Thailand and the second round from August 8 to 10 in Ninh Binh . Mr. Le Tri Truong, General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV), said that the strongest teams in the region, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines, have announced that they will bring their strongest squads to the SEA V.League. These are all competitors of the Vietnamese team at the 33rd SEA Games, so participating in the tournament is an opportunity to review the force and evaluate the capabilities of the Vietnamese team and its opponents.

The biggest problem that the coaches pointed out in the Vietnamese men's volleyball team after the Asian Volleyball AVC Nations Cup and in the ongoing SEA V.League stage 1 is the unstable performance. Coach Tran Dinh Tien's students had very good matches against opponents that were considered stronger, but played below their ability when facing opponents of equal or weaker level. Another problem that the coaching board of the Vietnamese men's volleyball team frankly pointed out and asked the students to overcome was the unstable performance. The Vietnamese men's team took the lead many times but lost, losing the victory regrettably.

Yesterday, July 11, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team excellently defeated the Thai team (reigning SEA Games and SEA V.League champions) with a score of 3-1. However, if they had taken advantage of the advantage in game 1, coach Tran Dinh Tien and his team could have won by a more impressive margin, in just 3 games. Watching the Vietnamese men's team compete with Thailand, many coaches commented that we are not inferior to our opponents in terms of expertise. If we can improve the spirit and mentality of the players, the Vietnamese team will have a chance to compete for the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games next December.

Women's volleyball set gold target

With the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet has in his hands a "golden generation" with talents Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Tran Thi Bich Thuy... The team has also continuously achieved success in international tournaments in the past 2 years, such as winning the Asian AVC Nations Cup. Aiming to win the 33rd SEA Games gold medal, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team faces a huge challenge because it has to overcome the number 1 team in the region, Thailand (ranked 19th in the world ). However, the gap in skill between the two teams is increasingly narrowing, and the Vietnamese girls are determined to make history. Facing the Thai women's team in the upcoming SEA V.League is a step to probe the opponent's ability, and an opportunity for the coaching staff of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to better prepare for the decisive rematch at the 33rd SEA Games.
