Da Nang: Reopening tourist routes in Son Tra peninsula after nearly 3 years of suspension

Tourists are allowed to visit and picnic on the Tien Sa-Om stream-Ban Co peak route; Ban Co peak-Bai Bac route and Bai Bac-heritage banyan tree route according to the prescribed time frames.

On September 16, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang City's tourist beaches announced the resumption of sightseeing and picnic activities on the tourist route in Son Tra Peninsula after nearly 3 years of suspension.

Due to the impact of heavy rains in October 2022, some roads in Son Tra peninsula were severely damaged, with damaged road surfaces, landslides, and gaps in many locations. Relevant units have repaired and restored damaged infrastructure to ensure smooth traffic.

Up to now, the landslide repair work has been completed, meeting the traffic needs of tourists and controlling, ensuring national security, environmental sanitation, security and order, forest fire prevention and fighting; minimizing harmful impacts on natural forest resources and ecosystems in Son Tra peninsula.

The Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang City's tourist beaches has decided to reopen the tour route at Son Tra Peninsula to serve visitors and picnickers, creating a basis for forming new tourism products to attract visitors.

Tourists are allowed to visit and picnic on the Tien Sa-Om Stream-Ban Co Peak route; Ban Co Peak-Bai Bac route and Bai Bac-Heritage Banyan Tree route according to the prescribed time frames.

Outside of the above time frame, the Management Board will lock the fence and not allow any sightseeing or picnic activities, except for those activities that have been licensed by the competent authorities.

To support the control work, ensure national security, environmental sanitation, security and order, forest fire prevention and fighting, and minimize harmful impacts on natural forest resources and ecosystems in Son Tra peninsula, the Management Board continues to implement forms of controlling the number of visitors and tourists according to regulations. Individual visitors will be controlled by blue cards, which guests use and return during the day.

For group guests, the travel agency must notify the Management Board of the time, route, number of visitors and commit to take responsibility for any incidents that occur, and comply with the tour rules and instructions of the management staff.

During the tour and picnic, visitors must comply with the tour rules and instructions of the management staff; tour time; not encroach on the forest and not perform acts that affect security, order, environmental sanitation, forest fire prevention and fighting.

Tourists must follow the prescribed route and not enter restricted areas or defense areas to film, take photos, or use flycams without the permission of the competent authority./.
