Hanoi University of Science and Technology increases enrollment quota by more than 1,000, opens new majors

According to the recently announced enrollment plan, this year Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans to enroll 9,260 students for 64 training programs (opening an additional educational management program), an increase of 1,275 students compared to last year.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology maintains the same three admission methods as last year. Specifically, the school reserves about 20% of its quota for the talent admission method, about 30% of its quota for the admission method based on thinking assessment test scores. In particular, the admission method based on 2024 high school graduation exam scores reserves about 50% of its quota.

Talented admission method, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will directly admit excellent students according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training ; admission based on international certificates SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP and IB; admission based on capacity profile combined with interview.

Candidates applying for admission based on international certificates must have an average GPA of 8.0 or higher in grades 10, 11, and 12; and have at least one of the following international certificates: SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP, and IB.

With the admission based on the combined profile and interview, the conditions for candidates to graduate from high school in 2024, have an average score of 8.0 or higher in each year of grades 10, 11 and 12. In this method, candidates must meet at least one of the following conditions: be selected for the national excellent student exam; have provincial awards in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, IT, Foreign Language; be selected for the national science and technology exam, Road to Olympia round of a month or more; be a specialized student.

Or candidates with IELTS certificate 6.0 or higher or equivalent can register for admission to the majors of English Language, Economics - Management, Educational Technology, and Educational Management.

Admission method is based on the thinking assessment test score organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Admission conditions are when candidates have graduated from high school and reached the thinking assessment score threshold set by the school (announced later).

Hanoi University of Science and Technology also allows candidates with VSTEP English certificates or international English certificates (registered for authentication on the system) to convert into English subject scores when considering admission based on high school graduation exam scores (combinations A01, D01, D07) and add bonus points when considering admission based on talent selection (areas 1.2, 1.3), and considering admission based on thinking assessment test scores.

Last year, the admission score for Hanoi University of Science and Technology was based on the high school graduation exam scores, ranging from 21 to 29.42 points. The highest score for Computer Science was 29.42 points, the lowest score was for the three majors Bioengineering (advanced program), Environmental Engineering and Natural Resources and Environment Management, all at 21 points.

The next highest scoring majors are Data Science and Artificial Intelligence 28.80 points, Computer Engineering 28.29 points, Global ICT 28.16 points, Digital Space Security 28.05 points...

The admission score is based on the thinking assessment test score from 50.40 to 83.97 points. Of which, data science and artificial intelligence have the highest score, followed by computer science.
