(NADS) - On December 14, at the Hall of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, the Congress of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists of Soc Trang province for the 2024 - 2029 term was solemnly held.
Attending and directing the Congress were Artist Vo Van Bang, Executive Committee Member of the Vietnam Association of Artists and Ms. Diep Thi Phuong Trang, Permanent Vice President of the Soc Trang Provincial Literature and Arts Association.
The Association currently has 10 members, 1 female, 1 party member, 1 EVAPA, EFIAP title member and 1 ESVAPA title member. During the term, 3 members were developed: Artist Trieu Hon Vo, Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Kieu Phuong, Artist Ly Phu Tai. During the past term, although there were many difficulties in organizing membership and operating costs, especially in the early period of the term when the Covid-19 pandemic and prolonged social distancing were heavily affected, with the spirit of overcoming difficulties, the collective of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in Soc Trang province has strived and achieved quite comprehensive results in all fields of activities in the field of Photography. The Association has done a good job of propaganda and political and ideological education; thoroughly grasped and organized implementation so that members could grasp and properly comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws. Fully and effectively carry out regular, key and ad hoc tasks in ideological work under the direction of the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts and the Provincial Literature and Arts Association Executive Committee.
Most members are skilled, dynamic and creative in composition, grasp and absorb science and technology, love their profession, constantly create many works to serve the political requirements of the province, and have many achievements in art photography competitions of the province, the region, the country and the world.
During the term, many collective composition sessions were held inside and outside the province, attracting dozens of members to participate. More than 10 composition sessions were held in the provinces and cities: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Ha Nam, An Giang, Kien Giang, Bac Lieu, Vinh Long... The composition activities have increasingly approached the development of digital technology, and members have applied them to create works bearing the unique mark and characteristics of each author that the domestic photography community knows, such as: Artist Tang Hong Son with the conceptual photography genre, Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Kieu Phuong with the still life photography genre, Artist Trieu Hon Vo with the portrait photography genre, Artist Hua Tan Hung with the theme of artistic yoga photography, Artist Dinh Cong Tam with the theme of Ngo boat racing, Khmer beliefs and the art of singing Boi, Artist Trinh Lam Tuyen with the theme of national security, politics, society...
Along with creating photographic works of high artistic value, the work of exhibitions and image promotion to the public plays an important role in propagating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies into life, contributing to enriching the spiritual life of the people. There are a total of more than 20 exhibitions with more than 1,000 photos displayed on holidays, New Year's and important events of the province. There are exhibitions outside the province such as: Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism exhibited 100 photos at the Sea Tourism Festival held in Nha Trang City; Provincial Ethnic Committee exhibited 50 photos at the Ethnic Culture Village in Hanoi, sent 40 photos to the National Assembly's Ethnic Committee to select and print photo books... Especially in 2020, NSNA Dinh Cong Tam coordinated with Stop and Go Cultural Space to exhibit a series of 15 photos with the theme "Duong Tu" in Nha Trang City. Da Lat attracts the attention of the public of Lam Dong province and tourists to the religious culture of the Khmer people in Soc Trang province.
At national photo contests such as: Homeland Sea and Islands, Fatherland on the Shore of Waves, Pride in a Borderline, Campaign for Literary and Artistic Creation with the theme of Studying and Following the Moral Example and Style of Ho Chi Minh organized by the Central Propaganda Department; Vietnamese Artistic Photography organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports; International Photo Contest (VN), National Excellent Photography organized by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists; specialized contests organized by central agencies such as the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of National Defense, Vietnam Electricity... these are major contests, with professional prestige, high prize value, the number of authors sending works is up to tens of thousands of people. Members of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in Soc Trang province have achieved many achievements at national contests such as: A, B, C Prizes - National Excellence by Photographic Artist Dinh Cong Tam; C Prize - National Excellence by member Trinh Lam Tuyen; C Prize - Ministry of National Defense by Artist Hoang Kim Thanh, C Prize for outstanding works commemorating 50 years after the country's reunification by Artist Dinh Cong Tam, Gold Medal by Artist Ly Phu Tai, Silver Medal by Artist Trieu Hon Vo, Bronze Medal by Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Kieu Phuong, Artist Dinh Cong Tam, Artist Tang Hung Son, Encouragement Prize by Artist Dinh Cong Tam, Artist Trinh Lam Tuyen and 15 photos in the national exhibition by Artist Dinh Cong Tam, Artist Ly Phu Tai, Artist Tang Hung Son, Artist Hoang Kim Thanh, Artist Hua Tan Hung, Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Kieu Phuong, Artist Trieu Hon Vo...
At the annual Mekong Delta Art Photography Festival organized by the Vietnam Association of Photographers, many members actively participated and achieved many high achievements: during the term, they won a total of 01 Gold medal, 02 Silver medals, 06 Bronze medals and 20 exhibition photos. In particular, in 2020, the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts coordinated to host the 35th Mekong Delta Art Photography Festival in Soc Trang province with the theme "Country - People of the Mekong Delta" attracting 1,882 works of 290 authors from 13 provinces and cities in the region. At this competition, Soc Trang province unit excellently won the First Prize for the team with 01 Gold medal by Artist Dinh Cong Tam, 02 Bronze medals by Artist Trinh Lam Tuyen, Artist Hoang Kim Thanh, and 10 works of the artists were exhibited. In addition to the above members, many members also have high achievements at the Mekong Delta Art Photography Festivals such as: Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Kieu Phuong, Silver medal in 2019; Artist Hua Tan Hung, Encouragement prize in 2024... other artists have many photos exhibited such as: Artist Tang Hung Son, Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Kieu Phuong, Artist Trieu Hon Vo, ...
In 2022, the People's Committee of Soc Trang province organized the first Soc Trang Provincial Literature and Arts Award to summarize the development of Soc Trang province after 30 years of re-establishment. This is an activity to recognize and honor artists who have made positive contributions to the leadership, construction and development of the province's literature and arts, and to select and award prizes to outstanding works praising the people and homeland of Soc Trang in the process of integration and development. At this award, NSNA Dinh Cong Tam was honored to receive the C prize.
With the achievements, in the last term, the Photography Association was awarded: The collective received a Certificate of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee. The title: ES.VAPA - Outstanding Photography Artist for NSNA Trinh Lam Tuyen. The title: E.VAPA - Outstanding Photography Artist for NSNA Dinh Cong Tam, the title: E.FIAP - Outstanding International Photography Artist for NSNA Dinh Cong Tam. NSNA Trinh Lam Tuyen was awarded the Medal for the Cause of Vietnamese Photography, the Medal for the Cause of Vietnamese Journalism; NSNA Dinh Cong Tam was awarded the Medal for the Cause of Culture, Sports and Tourism. A total of 8 certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee for individual members: Trinh Lam Tuyen (2), Dinh Cong Tam (3), Trieu Hon Vo (1), Ly Phu Tai (1), Nguyen Thi Thanh Kieu Phuong (1). Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists for individuals Dinh Cong Tam, Trieu Hon Vo, Nguyen Thi Thanh Kieu Phuong, Tang Hung Son.
Moving into the 2024-2029 term, the Congress has set out the mission direction with the goal of: Promoting the spirit of "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Responsibility" to focus on talent and enthusiasm, promote photography activities; enhance the application of new technology, create the position and role of provincial photography, effectively serving the cause of building, developing, protecting the country and international integration. At the same time, the Resolution for the 2024-2029 term was voted to be passed with the following targets:
(1) 100% of members firmly grasp and comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; fully implement the association's regulations and member duties.
(2) Strive to develop at least 02 members of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.
(3) Every year, members are considered for creative support from the central and local levels. During their term, they are supported to publish 02 collective photo books. They strive to have at least 01 member supported to print a personal photo book.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts in Soc Trang province for the 2024-2029 term, consisting of 3 members: President of the Association Dinh Cong Tam and 2 Vice Presidents: Artist Trieu Hon Vo and Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Kieu Phuong. The Congress also elected a delegation of 5 delegates to attend the Congress of the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts for the 2025-2030 term, including 1 alternate delegate.
