Provincial Bar Association Congress: Solidarity - Innovation - Creativity

On November 7, the Provincial Bar Association (HLG) solemnly held the 7th Congress of Delegates of the Phu Tho Provincial Bar Association, term 2024-2029. Attending the Congress were comrades Phan Trong Tan - Member of the Provincial Party Committee , Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Cong Phan - Vice Chairman, General Secretary of the Vietnam Bar Association.

The summary report of the Association's work for the 6th term, 2019-2024, stated that during the past term, the Provincial HLG made many efforts to perform well the functions and tasks according to the Association's Charter and completed the targets set out in the Resolution for the 2019-2024 term.

In the 2019-2024 term, political and ideological education for members; dissemination of the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies; and mobilizing people to respect and comply with the law were strengthened and achieved clear results. During the term, the Provincial HLG and all levels of the association organized nearly 2,950 propaganda sessions for over 194,000 attendees. All levels of the association and members, according to their functions and duties, participated in mediation activities at the grassroots level and in court for a total of nearly 5,660 cases; successfully mediated 4,520 cases, reaching a rate of 79.9%.

The work of judicial reform, administrative reform, supervision of law enforcement, settlement of complaints and denunciations, prevention and fight against corruption and negativity has been participated in by all levels of the association with a high sense of responsibility. During the term, a new HLG of Tan Son district was established, completing the goal of having HLG in all 13 districts, cities and towns in the province. 100% of the association organizations and members have completed and excellently completed their tasks, with no members violating the law. With the efforts and spirit of serving the people, the role and position of the provincial HLG are increasingly affirmed, meeting the requirements and tasks; being a reliable legal support for the Party Committee, the government and the people and being trusted, recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee, the government and the people.

With the motto "Solidarity - Innovation - Creativity - Development", the 7th Provincial Bar Association, term 2024 - 2029, continues to consolidate, improve and build the Provincial Bar Association to be increasingly strong in organization; strongly innovate the content and methods of operation of the Bar Association at all levels, focusing on the grassroots, properly implementing the principles, purposes and Charter of the Association...

The Executive Committee of the Phu Tho Provincial People's Council, term 2024-2029, was introduced to the Congress.

Speaking at the Congress, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Lawyers' Association Tran Cong Phan acknowledged and commended the achievements of the provincial Lawyers' Association in the past term. At the same time, he requested the Phu Tho Provincial Lawyers' Association for the 2024-2029 term to strengthen coordination with Party committees and authorities at all levels to continue effectively implementing Directive No. 14-CT/TW of the Politburo; Directive No. 21/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on the organization and operation of the Lawyers' Association; Project "Promoting the role of Lawyers' Associations at all levels in the dissemination and education of law in the period 2024 - 2030".

He emphasized that the Provincial HLG proactively and comprehensively implemented all areas of work, innovated the content and methods of operation, and improved the quality and effectiveness of the activities of the association at all levels. Continuing to focus on the grassroots level, it is necessary to focus on recruiting more members, establishing commune-level HLG branches; strengthening the relationship between the Provincial HLG with the associations at all levels and with agencies and localities to effectively implement propaganda, dissemination and education of the law; monitoring activities, social criticism, and legal science research.

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union awarded Certificates of Merit to individuals with outstanding achievements in the Association's activities for the 2019-2024 term.

Previously, at the first session, the Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Provincial People's Council, term VII, 2024-2029, with 23 members. Lawyer Do Dinh Chu - Chief Justice of the Provincial People's Procuracy was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, term VII, 2024-2029. The Congress also elected the Delegation to attend the 14th Congress of Vietnam People's Council, term 2024-2029, consisting of 3 members, including 2 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of Vietnam HLG awarded Certificates of Merit to 1 collective and 4 individuals; the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations awarded Certificates of Merit to the provincial HLG collective for its outstanding achievements in the Association's activities for the 2019-2024 term.
