List of players and schedule of group C second qualifying round of women's football for the 2024 Paris Olympics

On October 22, the Vietnamese women's team officially finalized the list of 22 players participating in the second qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Striker Huynh Nhu was named in the team list this time.

Previously, Huynh Nhu was not included by coach Mai Duc Chung in the list of players preparing for the second qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympics because this striker was busy playing for Lank FC in the 2023/24 Portuguese women's national football championship.

However, because the second qualifying round of the 2024 Olympics is part of FIFA Days, Lank FC is responsible for "releasing" Huynh Nhu to return home to play for the Vietnamese women's team. Before joining the team, the striker born in 1991 scored a goal in Lank FC's 2-4 loss to Braga in round 5.

Thus, unlike ASIAD 19 where she could not participate, Huynh Nhu will compete for the Vietnamese team in the second qualifying round of the 2024 Olympics. The presence of the striker from Tra Vinh helps coach Mai Duc Chung have more options for the attack of the Vietnamese women's team.

In the list of 22 players just finalized by coach Mai Duc Chung, 3 players will not continue to accompany the Vietnamese women's team, including: striker Ngoc Minh Chuyen (Thai Nguyen Club), midfielder Nguyen Thi Truc Huong (Vietnam Coal and Minerals Club) and defender Pham Thi Lan Anh ( Hanoi Club).

These are all players born after 2000, recently called up to the national team by the coaching staff.

Assessing the team's strength, midfielder Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy said: "After ASIAD 19, the young players have started to get along with their seniors. They were also given the opportunity to experiment and gain experience in the recent tournament.

Currently the players are confident and have better passes and coordination with other teammates.

In recent days, the coaching staff has let the players practice and compete internally to test and perfect their tactical plans, ready for the next 3 matches."

After finalizing the list, the Vietnamese women's team will leave for Uzbekistan. According to the schedule of Group C, coach Mai Duc Chung's team will start at 7 p.m. on October 26, against host Uzbekistan. After that, Huynh Nhu and her teammates will meet India and Japan on October 29 and November 1, respectively.

In the second round of 2024 Olympic qualifying, the three group winners and the best runner-up will advance to the third round.
