The National Cinema Center is the only place in the country to show "Peach, Pho and Piano". According to data from Box Office Vietnam - the unit that collects box office revenue statistics for the Vietnamese cinema market, the film "Peach, Pho and Piano", currently has 11 screenings, has sold 1,455 tickets, earning more than 87 million VND in the day.

According to Mr. Vu Duc Tung - Acting Director of the National Cinema Center, on February 20, the Center will add 7 more screenings at theater 1 (capacity 402 tickets). At the same time, in the coming days, the Center will continue to increase screenings if the audience has demand, to avoid the situation where the audience wants to see a movie but cannot see it.

The film revolves around the romantic, passionate love story of a self-defense soldier (Doan Quoc Dam) and a young lady from Hanoi (Cao Thuy Linh), thereby honoring the beauty and spiritual character of the people of ancient Hanoi .

“Starting from a tiktoker going to the movies and reviewing the movie, Dao, Pho and Piano have created a great influence on the movie-loving public. We are really surprised and are sure that this will be a valuable experience in communication work, promoting the development of the film industry,” Mr. Vu Duc Tung informed.

"Peach, Pho and Piano" is a state-ordered film that was completed in 2023. The film won the Silver Lotus at the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival. Along with Ms. Hong Ha, the film is one of two state films included in the pilot distribution and dissemination plan for a number of films produced using the state budget issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism before the Lunar New Year.

Director of the Cinema Department Vi Kien Thanh said that the public's interest in a film in general, or in the films Dao, Pho and Piano in particular, is a good sign. Bringing two films using the State budget to theaters during the Lunar New Year is a "test" and at first the State management agency for cinema could not avoid worries. "But up to now, these positive signs have shown that the pilot project, opening the way for State films to reach the public is completely correct," Director Vi Kien Thanh affirmed.

The film invested in a "huge" studio, with a large scale recreating a section of Hanoi street.

The success of "Peach, Pho and Piano" is a positive signal of state-ordered films and experience in using the media effects of social networks. It is undeniable that the effects of the media have contributed to helping cinematic works reach the public more closely than conventional promotion. Especially when social networks develop, consumer reviews have the conditions to spread strongly and play an important role, deciding the fate of cinematic products.

"Peach, Pho and Piano" received a lot of praise when the public, especially young people born today, learned about an old Hanoi that was elegant, noble, romantic but also very resilient against the bombs and bullets of French colonialism. The film's content revolves around the romantic, passionate love story of a self-defense soldier (Doan Quoc Dam) and a young lady of Hanoi (Cao Thuy Linh), thereby honoring the beauty and spiritual character of the people of old Hanoi.

The film was invested in a "huge" studio, with a large scale recreating a section of Hanoi street with the living spaces of the characters in the context of 1946 - 1947. To be able to recreate the atmosphere of the fierce battle to protect Hanoi for 60 days and nights, from the end of 1946 to the beginning of 1947, the film crew built an old quarter nearly 100 m long, on a plot of land belonging to the old military barracks in Dai Lai, Phuc Yen.

After more than 5 months of construction, with a design and production team of experienced people who have participated in many historical and war films, a large-scale film studio has been formed. These are the old town houses of Hanoi in 1940, with grocery stores, tailor shops, restaurants... and even tanks and tram cars, where the people of Hanoi built ramparts in the war to protect the beloved capital in the past.

The film, through a story that took place on the ramparts of an old quarter in the winter of 1946, depicts the most fierce and heroic moments in the 60-day and night battle of the army and people of the capital. The film not only praises the spirit of bravery and patriotism but also delves into and explains the character and qualities of Hanoians./.
