The topic of healing is of interest to many young people, especially those who are about to graduate or start a new job.

Clinical psychologist Nguyen Hong Bach (DrMP Clinical Psychology Center, Vietnam Psychological Association) will share to help everyone have more perspectives on healing.

* Doctor, please share how we should understand healing?

- Healing must be directed at the right people, those who are experiencing psychological problems and extreme shocks. So who are the people who need healing?

These are people who have suffered from psychological trauma that has long-term consequences. People with deep emotional disorders that lead to depression; people with obsessive-compulsive disorder that originates from childhood; and people with obsessive-compulsive disorder that originates from the pressures of life and work.

When you encounter these conditions, see a psychiatrist, clinical psychologist or a real psychologist for treatment.

There are still many emotional disorders in everyday life through moments, through sudden anger, but each of us knows how to heal those cracks in the best way through lifestyle, through physical training, through studying and working.

People who think they need to heal, they spend time taking courses, abandoning themselves, leaving their jobs, leaving their families can cause great consequences to their lives.

When you join a healing group, you may have to accept the mindset that you are not okay, you have to heal to give yourself the most comfortable living position. There have been people who joined a healing course, at that time they felt very comfortable, very peaceful. But when they returned to life, that feeling was no longer there. Then they went to heal, that is attachment.

In fact, every human being when growing up more or less encounters storms. But not all storms are enough to make us fall into a state of depression. It may be just emotional disorders or imbalance disorders, or more gently called stress.

Since we have been conscious, we have been exposed to many different things in life and almost nothing has satisfied us.

When I was a student, I was not satisfied with my study results, my relationships with friends, my parents, or my life. When I was a little older, when I started working, I was under pressure from work, income, and colleagues. Actually, all of those things are already present in life. We must understand that they are the principles of life so that people can improve themselves.

* Many young people who have just graduated feel pressured and will find ways to travel and quit their jobs to "heal", what do you think?

- Healing by traveling and having fun with friends can be a state of mental instability. For example, some people are so stressed that eating is the only way to relieve stress; some people are addicted to shopping; or just want to sit with friends... They can eat to the point of obesity, or lose weight due to anorexia.

Or regardless of everything, borrow money to go shopping and travel.

If we consider it as a disease, it is an emotional disorder of the mind, not a psychological one. It is not that they suddenly want to seek those habits for fun, but it is a disordered state. If these things happen frequently and affect your life, you should see a doctor soon for advice.

* Do you have any advice for young people who are facing pressure from work and life?

- When you encounter difficulties and pressure at work, that is not the time for you to heal. The important thing is that you must know how to accept it.

There are people who hate their jobs, they hate their jobs and hate everything around them. The courage of each person depends on the moment. If you want to achieve your dreams, you have to go through ups and downs to feel all the meaningful things.

Meditation to heal, should be understood correctly

Dr. Nguyen Hong Bach shared about a woman who, after her marriage broke down and both children chose to follow their father, fell into depression. After that, she attended a healing course. When she heard people talk about Dharma, about letting go, about the good things in life, she felt mentally relaxed.

However, after only 2 weeks of attending the course, she fell back into the same state. That is, she was "borrowing" a lifeline and not solving the root problem.

"To heal, they have to realize who they are, what they are going through. There is a good saying 'the bell must be untied by the person who tied it'.

Meditation for healing is not yet properly understood - meditation helps us to have peace of mind, inner peace and to get rid of unnecessary greed and anger. Through meditation, people realize that life is more meaningful and meditation does not discriminate between having a disorder or not having a disorder before meditating. Having time to meditate is very good.

Besides meditation, there are many other ways to practice calming the mind such as reading books, listening to music, etc. Finally, everyone should arrange their time, know how to put away distracting thoughts, love work, and be open-minded, then the mind will always be open and there is no need for healing," Dr. Bach advised.
