Promoting new rural construction and rural economic development

(CT) - According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Can Tho City, Can Tho City currently has 72 communes. Of which, 59/72 communes meet new rural standards, 13/59 communes meet advanced new rural standards and 2/13 communes meet model new rural standards. Thus, up to now, the city still has 13 communes that have not met new rural standards. Regarding the implementation of the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, the city has 859 OCOP products, of which 3 OCOP products have 5 stars, 239 OCOP products have 4 stars and 617 OCOP products have 3 stars.

Can Tho City's ST 25 rice has just been certified as 5-star OCOP.

The city continues to improve rural infrastructure, focusing on investing in developing rural transport networks and school facilities; consolidating and developing the grassroots health care network; upgrading health centers and health stations... At the same time, promoting and improving the quality of public administrative services; improving the quality of grassroots government operations; promoting digital transformation, enhancing the application of information technology, digital technology, building smart new rural areas; ensuring and enhancing people's access to law. Along with that, localities focus on developing production, increasing people's income; improving the quality and effectiveness of the OCOP program to leverage rural economic development; encouraging businesses to invest in agriculture and rural areas to mobilize resources from credit capital and corporate capital for new rural construction.
