Institute of Strategy and Policy on Ethnicity and Religion conducts survey in Trinh Tuong commune

On the morning of September 13, the working group of the Institute of Ethnic and Religious Strategy and Policy under the Academy of Ethnicities conducted a survey and proposed solutions to integrate programs and policies in Trinh Tuong commune, Lao Cai province.

The working delegation worked with the People's Committee of Trinh Tuong commune.

During the survey, Trinh Tuong commune reported to the Working Group the advantages, difficulties, and results achieved in the implementation of the National Target Programs for the period 2021 - 2025 in the commune. At the same time, it recommended and proposed a number of solutions for the period 2026 - 2030 such as: determining the areas to implement the national target program and criteria for classifying communes should increase investment resources to develop essential infrastructure in mountainous areas; support livelihood diversification, increase production support, and create conditions for people to escape poverty sustainably.

In the support content of the National Target Program in the coming period, it is necessary to continue restructuring agriculture, developing the rural economy , and at the same time linking the OCOP program with digital transformation and climate change response; the development of rural industries and rural tourism, along with support for cooperatives and rural start-ups, also needs to be prioritized; vocational training for rural workers needs to be promoted, along with a specific mechanism to support production in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; capital allocation needs to be flexible so that communes can proactively arrange according to actual needs. At the same time, it is necessary to focus on decentralization and delegation of authority with appropriate policies, creating conditions for localities to be autonomous in planning development goals, based on socio-economic conditions, potentials and advantages, especially in localities with potential for economic development, tourism and ethnic minority areas.

In the afternoon of the same day, the Delegation also conducted a field survey on the implementation of the National Target Programs in Tan Giang village, Trinh Tuong commune.
