On the morning of June 13, the 10th grade entrance exam for Thanh Hoa public high schools for the 2024-2025 school year began with the Literature exam (120-minute test duration). This is one of the three subjects of the exam, along with Math and English. After the test, most candidates at the examination councils in the province left with a relaxed mindset.

As one of the candidates who left the Ham Rong High School Examination Council the earliest, candidate Nguyen Do Khanh Toan ( Dien Bien Secondary School, Thanh Hoa City) shared: I found that this year's Literature exam was quite close to the students' abilities, many students could get 7.5 points or higher.

Candidate Le Nguyen Soi (Dong Cuong Secondary School, Thanh Hoa City) said: The structure of this year's exam is basically the same as previous years, including 2 parts: Reading comprehension and text creation. Basically, the exam is quite easy, close to the students' ability, so I did about 80%.

Candidate Nguyen Thanh Xuan (Dien Bien Secondary School, Thanh Hoa City) said: This year's exam was quite good, I did about 70%.

Commenting on this year's Literature exam, teacher Dinh Thi Hoai Anh, Literature teacher at Minh Khai Secondary School, said: The entrance exam for grade 10 of Thanh Hoa province's public high schools for the 2024-2025 school year ensures structure, closely follows the textbook program, is basic, and within the ability.

For reading comprehension: Good material, clear questions, no trickery.

The social argument section discusses the meaning of knowing how to live for others, the issue of closeness and moving towards a humane and noble way of life.

The literary discussion section, selected as material a very touching excerpt from the work “Ivory Comb” by writer Nguyen Quang Sang (Literature 9, volume 1). This excerpt shows the changes in Thu’s feelings after accepting Mr. Sau as her father, thereby praising the sacred, deep, and immortal father-daughter love in the difficult circumstances of war. The price of war is not only expensive and brutal when it happens, but its consequences are wounds that bleed for decades. Analyzing the exam further, teacher Trinh Thi Hai, Cu Chinh Lan Secondary School (Thanh Hoa City), said: This year's literature exam has good material, ensuring it is suitable for students' ability, has deep educational meaning, but requires students to study carefully and have solid knowledge to achieve high results, the classification of students lies in each part of the exam.

Specifically, the reading comprehension section is easy for students to think and answer, the structure is familiar, the level is appropriate. Regarding the content, it ensures the appropriate level, the language is concise, although not difficult, it requires students to have a solid knowledge right from the first sentence. After leaving the exam room, many students will have debates about the method of expression.

The social argumentation section is a matter of great concern to society in general and to students in particular. The test does not require too much thinking and perception of the age group, but requires students to have solid arguments, think thoroughly, and the test has the necessary educational value.

In the literary argumentation section, in terms of content, the work in the curriculum “Ivory Comb” is a familiar work, easy to feel for students, especially the part about father-child relationship in life. However, to feel the character in the excerpt requires students to study very detailed, carefully, delicately, to be able to call the thesis correctly and get high scores.

This afternoon (June 13), candidates participating in the 10th grade entrance exam for Thanh Hoa public high schools in the 2024-2025 school year will continue to take the English exam, with a test time of 60 minutes.
