On the afternoon of June 7, candidates registering for specialized Math classes at 6 high schools completed the specialized exam within 150 minutes.

This year, about 6,900 candidates will take the specialized subject exams, while the quota for specialized classes at 6 high schools is 1,680.
The highest competition ratio for 10th grade specialized classes in Ho Chi Minh City is 1/5.4, at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted. This ratio at Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted is 1/4.6. In addition, Nguyen Huu Huan, Nguyen Thuong Hien, Mac Dinh Chi, and Gia Dinh High Schools all have about 5-6 specialized classes, with competition ratios ranging from 1/2.3 to 1/3.4.
Students taking the entrance exam for the 10th grade specialized program will take the three basic subjects of Literature, Foreign Language, and Mathematics of the 10th grade entrance exam, along with one specialized subject. The specialized program admission score is the sum of the three basic subject test scores (coefficient 1) plus the specialized exam score (coefficient 2).
The 10th grade exam scores are expected to be announced on June 20. Next, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will announce the benchmark scores for specialized and integrated classes on June 24. The benchmark scores for regular (general) 10th grade will be announced on July 10.
