National Drama Festival with rich themes
The 2024 National Drama Festival, taking place from June 11 to 26, brings together nearly 1,000 artists and actors from 19 professional drama units, both public and private, with 23 plays, which are unique and outstanding artistic products of the Vietnamese performing arts.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong assessed that the festival had many plays containing creativity and novelty, showing that drama is undergoing many changes in content and form.
The topics reflected in the festival are quite rich, new and have predictive value.
The festival's participating units, both public and private, bring to the competition stage a variety of topics, from history to modernity, from wartime to peacetime, from rural to urban areas, etc.
The art units express ideas seriously and clearly, are attractive in form, are highly topical, and are useful to society. The artists are free to create, bringing the audience many levels of emotions and conveying humanistic messages.
The Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism suggested that in the coming time, agencies and functional units in charge of art units and theaters with artists and actors need to continue to pay attention and invest carefully in human resources and facilities for the competitions.
In particular, units need to have special treatment policies to attract, nurture and train young, talented artists and actors as future generations.
For plays, the performances of the actors need to be elaborately staged, have a good script, a plot, and attractive highlights. The actors need to have skillful performance techniques, have a good director, stage manager, etc. to serve the audience's need to enjoy art.
