Do Manh Cuong performs fashion show in New York on S-shaped runway

Designer Do Manh Cuong designed a unique S-shaped runway when introducing his new collection at New York Fashion Week.

On the morning of September 11 (Vietnam time), designer Do Manh Cuong introduced his new collection at Spring Studio, USA.

The show is part of New York Fashion Week Spring Summer 2024.

Catwalk models on the S-shaped runway

Designer Do Manh Cuong said that this time he will introduce 50 new designs through the performance of 30 foreign models. The models participating in the show were selected by casting director Jennifer Starr.

Do Manh Cuong applies his strengths in cutting and sewing techniques, form building, and combining details and colors into this collection.

The main materials he uses include tweed, brocade, tafta, organza, cotton, silk, fur, chiffon... Along with that, the main colors are black, white and pink.

For the first time, Do Manh Cuong made a costume with elaborate details that are highly practical and not heavy on performance.

The 3D flower detail with its distinctive mark continues to be promoted by Do Manh Cuong in this collection. The 3D flowers are combined on the design inspired by the fashion of fashionistas in New York.

In particular, the male designer also introduced to the audience unique and beautiful 3D floral bag designs.

The highlight of the show was the runway designed in the shape of the letter S (the map of Vietnam), creating a difference and expressing the national spirit.

Designer Do Manh Cuong said he was proud to have brought the spirit and image of Vietnam into this show.

In addition, according to the standard regulations of New York Fashion Week , the shows only last 9 minutes. However, Do Manh Cuong's show lasted about 15 minutes due to the favor of the organizers.

Designer Do Manh Cuong's show had about 400 guests attending.

Previously, in April 2023, designer Do Manh Cuong held a fashion show at the University of Sydney, Australia.

He also held shows in the US (2015) and Australia (2019).

In Vietnam, Do Manh Cuong has held solo shows twice a year for over 10 years.
