As reported by VietNamNet , this morning, the YouTube channel MixiGaming was hacked and taken over. The hacker then hid all video content and used the channel to livestream cryptocurrency advertising content. MixiGaming is a YouTube channel owned by Phung Thanh Do (born 1989), commonly known as Do Mixi.

According to SocialBlade statistics, videos posted on MixiGaming have a total of more than 3.2 billion views, ranking 611th in the world in terms of the number of followers. In the last 30 days, the "huge" number of followers earned the MixiGaming channel 52.8 million views.

After the MixiGaming attack, the question many people are asking is how much damage will the incident cause to the owner of this YouTube channel?

Social Blade statistics show that the cost per 1,000 ads (CPM) on YouTube ranges from $0.25 to $4. Social Blade estimates that the MixiGaming channel's monthly revenue will range from 7 cameras (priced at $1,995) to 5 Tesla Model 3 cars (priced at $47,000).

That is, according to Social Blade's estimate, the MixiGaming channel's monthly YouTube revenue will range from $14,000 to $235,000. However, according to many Vietnamese YouTubers, the statistics on revenue from Social Blade are often not accurate, the figures are much higher than their actual income.

Sharing with VietNamNet , a YouTube money-making expert said that in European and American countries, depending on the topic, YouTube content creators will receive about 4-8 USD for every 1,000 views. However, in Vietnam, this figure usually fluctuates between 0.3-0.7 USD per 1,000 views, or even lower.

For YouTubers, this metric is reflected through the RPM (Revenue per mille) index or revenue per 1,000 impressions.

The reason for the difference in YouTube revenue between the world and Vietnam comes from the effectiveness of advertising. In Western countries, the conversion rate between viewing, clicking on ads and deciding to buy is often high.

Meanwhile, in Vietnam, watching YouTube ads has a low conversion rate into orders. Because it does not have much influence on purchasing decisions, the unit price that Vietnamese content creators receive per video view is therefore also low.

In addition, because many people use tricks (tips, tricks) to attract views regardless, the number of views in the Vietnamese market often has a low credibility score. In the case of placing too few ads or the number of people clicking on the ads is too low, the RPM rate of a Vietnamese YouTube channel can drop to 0.1 or 0.2 USD/1,000 views, or even to 0.01 USD/1,000 views.

From this price, plus the number of views, we can roughly estimate Do Mixi's YouTube income. With 52.8 million views last month, if we apply a low price of 0.2 USD, the amount Phung Thanh Do earned last month was about 10,500 USD.

This also means that Do Mixi earns about 350 USD/day from YouTube every day. With the exchange rate of 1 USD to 24,620 VND, Do Mixi's daily loss when his YouTube channel stops working is about 8.7 million VND. If the time to fix the problem is prolonged or the channel is even lost, the loss will be much greater.

However, it should be noted that this is only the income from YouTube. Normally, YouTubers will have many sources of income, coming from many different digital platforms. If interested by brands, social media stars like Do Mixi can also earn many other sources of income from advertising and sponsorship contracts.

Do Mixi's YouTube channel with more than 7 million followers was hacked? Do Mixi's YouTube channel seems to have been taken over by hackers who have hidden all of his videos and posted advertisements about cryptocurrencies.
