Exchange plastic waste for gifts, contribute to environmental protection

At the program, 50 women members brought many baskets of waste such as mineral water bottles, soft drinks, beer cans, old papers, etc. to exchange for gifts. Each member received 1 gift (more than 200,000 VND/gift), including rice, instant noodles, soy sauce, fish sauce, cooking oil, soap, rice paper, salt and chili.

According to Mrs. Nguyen Thi Bap (Cau Khoi A hamlet), in the past, after using plastic bottles, her family threw them away, unintentionally affecting the environment. In recent years, the Commune Women's Union launched a movement to exchange plastic waste for gifts, she and her family members collected these types of waste to exchange for gifts.

“Collecting household waste contributes to keeping the environment clean and beautiful. In the future, whether or not the Commune Women's Union maintains the program of exchanging plastic waste for gifts, I will continue to collect household waste to contribute to environmental protection,” said Ms. Bap.

Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Cau Khoi Commune, Le Thi My Le, said that the program "Zero-dong stall, exchange plastic waste for gifts", launched by the Women's Union of the old Duong Minh Chau district in 2018 and maintained until now, thereby contributing to raising people's awareness of environmental protection.

Ms. Le Thi My Le added that the amount of plastic waste was sold by the Commune Women's Union to scrap and scrap metal collection centers. The proceeds were used to raise funds and buy gifts for the next Zero-Dong Booth program.

The program is also supported by local philanthropists. The booth opens every quarter. This activity is organized to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere to welcome the 1st Congress of Cau Khoi Commune Party Committee, term 2025-2030 and the Congress of the Commune Women's Union, term 2025-2030.
