Today (September 5), the team had an internal match with Sahako Club to review and evaluate the team's strength one last time before moving to Kuwait for training.
Coach Diego Giustozzi said: “Up to this point, I am very satisfied with the training intensity and professionalism of the players. The team trains with a high volume, practicing many different tactical pieces to prepare for the opponents in the 2026 Asian qualifiers such as Hong Kong (China), China, Lebanon, who can play with different intensities.”
The Argentine strategist added: “Before the training session, I wanted to give a chance to some new players. However, after each week, we organize internal matches to evaluate the performance of each player. Up to now, some players have not met the technical requirements or are injured, so I plan to reduce the list to 16 players.”
According to the plan, the Vietnamese futsal team will continue training in Ho Chi Minh City before leaving for Kuwait for training from September 9-14. Here, the team will play two friendly matches with the Kuwait futsal team on September 11 and September 13. After that, the whole team will move to China to officially enter the 2026 Asian futsal qualifying round.
Assessing the significance of this training trip, coach Diego Giustozzi emphasized: “The two friendly matches with Kuwait are different in nature from the matches in the Asian qualifiers, but will be a valuable opportunity for important players who have just returned from injury such as Duc Hoa, Ngoc Linh... to regain their international competition rhythm, while also helping other players gain more experience.”
In the 2026 Asian Futsal Qualifiers, the Vietnamese team is in Group E with Lebanon, China and Hong Kong (China). According to the match schedule, coach Diego Giustozzi and his team will face Hong Kong (China) on September 20, China on September 22 and Lebanon on September 24.
With careful preparation in terms of expertise and competitive spirit, the Vietnamese futsal team is completely confident in its goal of passing the qualifying round and winning a ticket to the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship.
