Vietnam Futsal team leaves for Kuwait for training

VHO - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said that on the evening of September 8, the Vietnam Futsal team left for Kuwait to begin a short training session, completing the final preparations for the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship qualifiers.

Before going to Kuwait, the Vietnam Futsal team had time to "train" in Ho Chi Minh City with 20 players, a harmonious combination of experienced veterans and young faces with potential.

The training camp in Kuwait will help the team better prepare for the continental stage.

After training, coach Diego Giustozzi has shortened the list to 16 players.

Four players had to say goodbye to the team at this stage, including goalkeeper Nguyen Quoc Giau, Chau Thach Khanh Cuong, Ala Doan Minh Man and Tran Nhat Trung.

The team will train in Kuwait for 6 days (from September 9 to September 14). During this time, coach Diego Giustozzi and his team will have two international friendly matches against the Kuwait team, taking place on September 11 and September 13.

Evaluating this trip, coach Diego Giustozzi emphasized: “The two friendly matches with Kuwait are of a different nature from the matches in the Asian qualifiers, but will be a valuable opportunity for important players who have just returned from injury such as Duc Hoa, Ngoc Linh... to regain their international playing rhythm, while also helping other players gain more experience.”

After finishing training, the Vietnam Futsal team will move straight to China to participate in the qualifying round of the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship.

According to the draw results, the Vietnam Futsal team is in group E with opponents Lebanon, China and Hong Kong (China).

According to the match schedule, the Vietnamese team will meet Hong Kong on September 20, China on September 22 and Lebanon on September 24.
