Tuy Hoa Border Guard Station encourages fishermen to strictly comply with regulations against IUU fishing.

On September 11, at Dong Tac fishing port (Phu Yen ward), Tuy Hoa Border Guard Station coordinated with Phu Yen ward People's Committee and functional forces to organize propaganda and mobilize fishermen to sign a commitment not to violate foreign waters.

At the propaganda session, border guards disseminated legal regulations on aquatic exploitation; required ship owners and captains to register, inspect, hang the national flag, maintain 24/7 journey monitoring equipment, comply with inspection when entering and leaving ports, not exploit in the wrong area, not use banned substances or remove monitoring equipment.

Accordingly, 53 vehicle owners and captains signed a commitment to strictly comply with regulations, not to illegally exploit in foreign waters, to fully turn on monitoring equipment, carry safety documents and equipment, and to cooperate in providing information when violations are detected.

Tuy Hoa Border Guard Station is managing an area with 608 fishing vessels with 2,432 workers, of which 340 vessels with 1,782 workers participate in offshore fishing. This is a force that the unit regularly propagates and mobilizes to comply with legal regulations on seafood exploitation.

Since the beginning of the year, Tuy Hoa Border Guard Station has organized direct propaganda for more than 600 captains and vehicle owners to sign a commitment to comply with regulations on combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing and not participating in prohibited occupations at sea.

The unit has also distributed more than 380 leaflets on ensuring security and safety of gas pipelines at sea to captains and vehicle owners; at the same time, it regularly maintains forces at Da Rang Border Control Station to propagate, guide and mobilize fishermen to strictly implement regulations related to combating IUU fishing, joining hands with the whole country to remove the "yellow card" of the European Commission.
