The 280 billion VND fishing port project from Formosa's compensation money is about to be completed.

After more than 10 months of construction, the fishing port project in Ha Tinh with an investment of 280 billion VND from compensation funds from Formosa Company has completed about 90% of the volume.

On December 3, in Cam Nhuong commune (Cam Xuyen district, Ha Tinh), hundreds of workers were seen rushing to construct the Cua Nhuong fishing port investment project.

This is the final stage of the project, so contractors are mobilizing maximum human resources and machinery to construct and ensure progress.

The Cua Nhuong fishing port construction investment project started construction in January 2024, and to date the main items of the project have been basically completed.

According to observations, the project is completing the wharf for ships from 150CV - 400CV; wharf for ships under 150CV; inland waterway signaling system; embankment, sand-prevention dyke, internal roads in the port.

Other technical and civil infrastructure works such as a 2-storey operator house, a seafood reception house, a solid waste collection house, an inspection house, a dock, a guard house, a parking lot, a restroom area, etc. are in the process of completion.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Son - an officer of the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Agricultural Works and Rural Development of Ha Tinh Province - said that the Cua Nhuong fishing port investment project was built to contribute to the completion of the fishing port system in Ha Tinh, meeting the needs of fishing logistics, contributing to the economic , tourism, cultural and social development of the locality, so it received special attention from the investor.

Since the project was launched, the management board has always closely followed the construction site to urge the contractors to speed up the progress as well as promptly remove obstacles in the construction. Up to now, the project has reached about 90% of the workload, the main items have been basically completed and are in the finishing stage.

According to Mr. Son, one of the difficulties in constructing this project is that the tide often rises during the day, so the concrete pouring must stop waiting for the tide to go down. In addition, in recent months in Ha Tinh there has been a lot of rain, unfavorable weather, causing the construction time of some items to be extended. Despite some disadvantages, with the current construction progress, the project will still be completed in 2024.

Previously, as reported by Tuoi Tre Online , in May 2019, the Prime Minister issued Decision 467/QD-TTg on investing in the projects "Construction and upgrading of fisheries logistics service facilities" and the project "Restoration and regeneration of aquatic ecosystems and aquatic resources" in 4 central provinces using compensation money from Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation.

Ha Tinh province was allocated 400 billion VND to implement 4 projects, including the Cua Nhuong fishing port project with a total investment of 280 billion VND. However, for many reasons, this project will not be put into construction until January 2024.
