Construction of Dong Hoi Airport Terminal T2 is expected to start in the third quarter of 2024.

That is the content of the feasibility study report on the investment in the construction of the T2 passenger terminal project at Dong Hoi airport ( Quang Binh ), submitted by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) to the Department of Construction Investment Management (Ministry of Transport) for appraisal.

ACV will be the investor of the T2 passenger terminal project at Dong Hoi airport, with a total investment of 1,750 billion VND from the development investment fund of this enterprise.

Dong Hoi Airport T2 Passenger Terminal is designed with a scale of 2 floors above ground combined with a mezzanine, including 2 separate departure and arrival levels. The total construction floor area is 17,567m ² .

The station's capacity is 3 million passengers/year (equivalent to 1,200 passengers/peak hour) and there is an expansion plan to increase the capacity to 5 million passengers/year when needed (after 2030).

To ensure exploitation at the above capacity, Dong Hoi airport's T2 passenger terminal is equipped with 24 traditional check-in and baggage check-in counters, 2 conveyor belts for loading and unloading outgoing baggage and 3 conveyor belts for returning incoming baggage.

The terminal is connected to the aircraft parking lot by 3 passenger runways, accommodating code C aircraft (Airbus A320, A321 and equivalent) and a cobus entrance.

The T2 passenger terminal project at Dong Hoi airport is proposed by ACV to start construction in the third quarter of 2024 and be completed and put into use in the first quarter of 2026.

Dong Hoi Airport currently has a passenger terminal with a designed capacity of 500,000 passengers/year. However, up to now, Dong Hoi Airport has exceeded its designed capacity by more than 50%, and is expected to reach nearly 1 million passengers/year by 2025.

According to the plan, by 2030 Dong Hoi airport will have a capacity of 3 million passengers/year, and by 2050 the capacity will be 5 million passengers/year.

ACV affirmed that the investment goal of the project is to build passenger terminal T2 at Dong Hoi airport with a capacity of 3 million passengers/year, which is necessary to meet the airport's development requirements, improve passenger service quality and operational efficiency.
