Making Hanoi's people's diplomacy a national highlight

Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai has just signed and issued Directive No. 45-CT/TU of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on "Strengthening people-to-people diplomacy of the capital Hanoi to 2030, with a vision to 2045".

According to the Hanoi People's Committee's Electronic Information Portal, in Directive 45, the Hanoi Party Committee Standing Committee requested Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and people's organizations to actively disseminate, thoroughly understand and create profound changes in awareness of the position, role and importance of people's foreign affairs; identifying people's foreign affairs as the task of the entire political system, of each cadre, party member and people of the capital.

"Promote and improve the effectiveness of the people's foreign affairs of the Capital, contributing to consolidating the great national unity bloc and successfully carrying out the task of building and developing the capital Hanoi "Cultured - Civilized - Modern"; make Hanoi's people's foreign affairs become a representative of the people's foreign affairs of the whole country, worthy of the position and role of the Capital in the region and reaching the international level; contribute to consolidating the pillar of people's foreign affairs in comprehensive and modern Vietnamese diplomacy ", the Directive clearly stated.

The Directive emphasizes continuing to innovate the content and methods of organizing people-to-people diplomacy activities and foreign non-governmental work; researching, advising, and informing foreign affairs; effectively implementing the motto of Vietnam's people-to-people diplomacy "Proactive, flexible, creative, effective"; focusing on diversity and timeliness, clearly identifying the focus and key points in each stage, situation, field, and locality and ensuring the comprehensiveness and richness of the capital's people-to-people diplomacy activities. At the same time, developing people-to-people diplomacy activities in the fields of politics, culture, and society; paying attention to and focusing on people-to-people diplomacy activities in science - technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

"Connect international scientists, overseas Vietnamese experts, research and development (R&D) institutions... with the capital's partners. Develop a system of international partners and friends that the capital's people-to-people diplomacy activities need to aim for. Actively participate in organizing international seminars, talks, and forums on applying scientific and technological achievements, innovation, digital transformation in production, business, services, and training of high-quality human resources of the capital and the country," the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee noted.

The Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee also requested to diversify operating models, connect with the grassroots, and mobilize the wide participation of all classes of people, especially youth, intellectuals, businessmen, artists, religious dignitaries and prestigious people in the community.

Notably, the Directive mentions promoting the role of the Vietnamese community abroad, enhancing the value of the title "Honorary Citizen of Hanoi" for outstanding international figures; at the same time, strengthening the fight against public opinion, refuting false information and distorted arguments, protecting the friendship and cooperation between the Vietnamese people and people of other countries.
