The first play-off match of the qualifying round of the TNSV THACO Cup 2024 was the match between the University of Water Resources and the National Economics University. Rated as the stronger team thanks to home field advantage and being the current runner-up of the tournament, the home team, Water Resources, quickly took the initiative. Under pressure from coach Vu Van Trung and his team, the University of National Economics could only hold on for 22 minutes before goalkeeper Chu Nhat Quang (1) fouled the University of Water Resources striker in the penalty area, leading to a penalty. Compared to the previous two matches, Duy Tan University team has improved a lot in finishing ability in the last match. Although continuously behind, the representative from Da Nang still played very hard and made a spectacular comeback to win the final score of 4-3 against Hue University of Sciences team. Duy Tan University team had their first victory before leaving the tournament thanks to goals from Vo Thi Tai, Nguyen Dang Chau, Doan Van Manh and Nguyen Ky Son. Le Dinh Thanh, Nguyen Ngoc Thanh, Phan Van Tuan were the ones who scored for Hue University of Sciences team.

The result of the match between Duy Tan University and Hue University of Science made the final match of the qualifying round of the Central Coast region (between Hue University of Economics and Hue University of Law) meaningful, as any team with 3 points would advance. Hue University of Economics, with a superior force and a reasonable approach to the match, led 2-0 after the first 40 minutes of play, thanks to Ngo Le Dinh Khanh and Tran Khanh Duy. With a big advantage, in the second half, Hue University of Economics played a disciplined defense and preserved the result, thereby becoming the second team (along with Da Nang University of Sports) in the Central Coast region to win a ticket to the final round. This is the second consecutive time Hue University of Economics has participated in the national tournament.
