The Au Lac Grand Prize is expected to be awarded for 3 consecutive years, starting from 2026. The awarded products and solutions are AI products that create breakthroughs for the economy and society, with positive and sustainable impacts on the community.
The award is sponsored by the Au Lac AI Alliance, with the participation of a professional council including leaders, experts, businesses and the domestic and international technology community.
In addition to the prize money of 1 million USD, the winning individuals and organizations will also receive advice and supportfrom FPT and the Au Lac AI Alliance to expand their influence domestically and internationally.
FPT announced the Au Lac Grand Prize on the occasion of National Day September 2nd – the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country, with sacred meaning, reminding the nation's aspiration for independence and self-reliance. If 80 years ago, Vietnam regained national sovereignty , today, with artificial intelligence, FPT wishes to contribute to helping Vietnam create technological sovereignty – a new pillar in the digital age.
Mr. Truong Gia Binh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT Corporation, shared: “We believe that Au Lac Grand Prize is a driving force to motivate all individuals and organizations in society to develop and apply AI strongly. The award recognizes pioneering achievements in AI, and is also a call to encourage the scientific community, businesses and young generations of Vietnam to join hands in creating artificial intelligence for the sustainable development of the country, for Vietnamese technological sovereignty. Hopefully, the award will become a symbol of the spirit of creativity and dedication, bringing Vietnamese AI to the world.”
FPT pioneered AI research and development in Vietnam more than a decade ago and identified AI as one of the five key technologies in its long-term development strategy: AI - SELLING (semiconductors) - CAR (automotive software technology) - DIGITAL (digital transformation) - GREEN (green transformation). To date, FPT has a team of more than 1,000 engineers and AI experts, and has developed two Artificial Intelligence factories in Vietnam and Japan with NVIDIA. FPT's AI products and solutions have been widely applied in all fields such as education, healthcare, education, banking, commerce and urban management, contributing to improving the quality of life, improving labor productivity and competitiveness of organizations and businesses, with hundreds of millions of uses per month.
In the field of training, FPT has a research cooperation network with universities and research institutes at home and abroad such as Mila, LandingAI...; bringing AI into teaching from grade 1 and bringing AI/robots into general education. To date, the group has trained 1,700 students majoring in AI and aims to train AI skills for 500,000 people by 2030.
In June 2025, responding to the call of General Secretary To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, FPT Corporation initiated the establishment of the Au Lac AI Alliance. The alliance brings together more than 20 leading technology corporations, research institutes, and universities. The alliance has become a symbol of Vietnam's aspiration to master technology, conquer artificial intelligence, and build a strong nation.
