FPTU ranked 80th among global universities for good jobs and economic growth

On June 18, 2025, FPT University (FPTU) was officially ranked 80th in the world according to SDG8 criteria - Good Work and Economic Growth, in THE Impact Rankings 2025 announced by Times Higher Education (THE) Magazine.

FPTU also moved up the rankings and ranked in the Top 301-400 universities with the most comprehensive sustainable development impact in the world and maintained its position in the Top 101-200 in terms of education quality ranking (SDG4), among more than 2,500 participating schools from hundreds of countries. This is the third consecutive year that FPTU has moved up the rankings after 4 years of participating in THE Impact Rankings.

The Impact Rankings assess universities according to their performance on the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDG8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) measures how well universities prepare students for the job market – not just with degrees, but with the ability to adapt, do real work, succeed with the qualities and skills that meet the sustainable development of the earth. SDG4 (Quality Education) measures how well universities deliver on the goal of ensuring inclusive, equitable, quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all.

With a ranking of 80 SDG8, FPTU is internationally recognized as one of the universities with leading capacity in practical training - creating real jobs, real quality for students in the era of globalization and digital transformation.

Training model linked to market, technology and startups

To achieve the position of Top 80 in the world in SDG8, FPTU always puts students at the center of its training strategy. The school constantly innovates its curriculum, updates it according to practical needs and social development trends, and implements support activities so that students can work for real, create real value and not be replaced by technology.

FPTU students are trained in a learning environment closely linked to businesses, professional practices and entrepreneurship. From year 3, 100% of students participate in business internships (On-the-Job Training - OJT) under the guidance of industry mentors. In addition, the Personal Development Program (PDP) and community projects - such as supporting local digital transformation - help students gain a deep understanding of real-life social and economic operations.

FPTU students also participate in a short-term study abroad course (from 3-6 months) to experience and equip themselves with the necessary skills to be ready to go global.

With the orientation of helping students gain skills to create their own jobs, entrepreneurship at FPTU is an official learning path. From 2023, the school will integrate two compulsory courses "Startup Experience 1 and 2" into the last three semesters. Students with excellent projects will be recognized instead of their graduation projects and receive financial support. Playgrounds such as F-Shark, Student Showcase, FPT Biz Talent... create conditions for students to raise capital, debate and realize their ideas, with the support of the school, entrepreneurs and investors.

In particular, FPTU has proactively integrated AI, data and digital transformation content into all training programs. Students not only learn how to use AI as a tool, but also practice critical thinking, adaptability and creativity - irreplaceable factors.

It is the practical training model - from internship, community to start-up - that has helped FPTU achieve a rate of 98% of students having jobs after graduation, of which 19% are working in developed countries such as the US, UK, Germany, Japan, Canada...

Continuously rising in the prestigious world rankings THE Impact Rankings is proof of FPT University's efforts in providing an educational environment that is constantly innovative and creative.

Four years, three promotions - The journey to affirm global position

FPTU joined THE Impact Rankings in 2022 with an initial ranking in the 801+ group. Over the years, the school has continuously improved its position:

• 2022: Group 801 - 1000
• 2023 : Group 601 - 800
• 2024 : Group 401 - 600, Top 100-201 on SDG4
• 2025 : Group 301 - 400, ranked 80th in the world in SDG8, Top 100 - 201 in SDG4

The continuous rise in the global influential rankings is a testament to FPTU's commitment to continuous innovation - improving training quality - and increasing social influence on the journey to becoming a Vietnamese university of international stature.
