Nearly 400 athletes compete in triathlon in Bau Trang

Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province attended, along with representatives of other provinces and cities participating in this year's tournament: Ba Ria Vung Tau, Long An , Tay Ninh, Dong Nai, Binh Duong. This is a traditional sports tournament of Bac Binh district, to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024).

This year's season also has the participation of communes, towns, agencies and schools; armed forces, enterprises located in Bac Binh district; emulation clusters under the District Labor Federation; districts, towns, cities; departments, branches, organizations, armed forces; universities, colleges, intermediate schools, high schools; enterprises, central agencies located in Binh Thuan province and provinces and cities in the Southeast Emulation Cluster...

The tournament is organized with 2 events, provincial team and grassroots. The competition includes swimming: 190m distance (women do not compete in swimming); Sand dune running with a distance of 1.5km and sand sliding with a slope of 20m. For the team event, each team registers a maximum of 5 athletes, taking the 3 best athletes to calculate the ranking points.

In the men's team event, with a time of 17:27.30, athlete Pham Minh Thi (Ham Thuan Nam) finished first, second was Nguyen Huu Loc (Phan Thiet City), and third was athlete Tran Van Thuong (Tay Ninh Sports Training Center). In the men's team event, Ham Thuan Nam ranked first in the team event, second was Tay Ninh Sports Training Center, and third was Long An Sports Training Center.

In the women's event, first place went to the familiar face Nguyen Thi Thanh Tuyen (Provincial Sports Training Center), second and third place went to two athletes from Phan Thiet City, Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc and Nguyen Thi My Lien. First place in the team event went to Phan Thiet City, second place went to the Provincial Sports Training Center, and third place went to Ham Thuan Nam.

Accordingly, the first place for the whole team belongs to Ham Thuan Nam unit, the second place belongs to Long An Sports Training and Competition Center and the third place belongs to Phan Thiet City unit. The first place in the movement content belongs to Bac Binh High School unit, the second place belongs to Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, the third place belongs to Hong Phong commune unit.

The triathlon is a sport with a unique cultural identity of the locality, meeting the needs of enjoying the cultural and spiritual life of the people in the old Khu Le resistance base. At the same time, it promotes tourists to the Bau Trang landscape. The triathlon is held annually, attracting a large number of athletes to participate, not only competing but also contributing to creating interesting tourism products for tourists when visiting Bau Trang on this occasion.
