Garmin unveils Instinct 2X Solar watch with solar charging

This Garmin watch line includes two versions, the Instinct 2X Solar and the Instinct 2X Solar - Tactical Edition, to meet the needs of use in harsh environments. The product is durable and manufactured according to the US military's MIL-STD-810 standard to withstand heat, shock and water up to 10 ATM, along with a chemically strengthened, scratch-resistant Power Glass lens.

Instinct 2X Solar is a smartwatch that can be charged using solar energy.

This lens also helps increase battery life, absorbing sunlight and generating 50% more power than the standard Instinct 2 Solar. Solar charging also gives the watch continuous battery life.

Additionally, the Instinct 2X Solar integrates a dimmable LED light, adjusting the light source to white or red for clearer visibility in any situation, whether camping or jogging in the dark.

The Instinct 2X Solar offers a range of features and data to help users pursue their health, fitness and lifestyle goals, as well as explore exciting outdoor adventures.

Meanwhile, the Instinct 2X Solar - Tactical Edition is packed with features specifically for tactical operations, including: Jumpmaster Mode, Preloaded Tactical Operations, Estimated Waypoints, Dual Format GPS Coordinates, and Night Vision Compatibility. Users can also enable Stealth Mode to stop sharing GPS location and disable wireless communication. In this mode, GPS is still displayed on the watch face but is not saved to device memory or shared, suitable for users participating in training in areas with location security concerns.

For nighttime operations, the LED on the Instinct 2X Solar - Tactical Edition will shine a dedicated white or green light, with the green light being particularly useful in maintaining the eye's natural night vision.
