Previously, on the afternoon of March 6, a sugarcane fire broke out in the production area of ​​Hamlet 3, Nghia An Commune, Kbang District. Immediately after receiving the information, the Commune People's Committee mobilized forces along with local households, using water pumps from production households in the area to pump water to put out the fire.

By about 4 p.m. the same day, the fire was extinguished. According to preliminary statistics, the burnt sugarcane area was about 6.7 hectares of 7 adjacent households. All the burnt sugarcane areas were ready for harvest.

Immediately after the fire, local authorities instructed affected households to proactively contact sugarcane dealers to quickly harvest the burnt sugarcane to reduce damage; at the same time, continue to coordinate to investigate the cause of the fire.

Gia Lai farmers are entering the peak sugarcane harvest season of the 2024-2025 crop year, which is also a time of prolonged heat and drought, posing a high risk of sugarcane fires. Currently, An Khe Sugar Factory, along with localities and sugarcane growers, are actively implementing solutions to prevent sugarcane fires during the peak of the heat.
