Taking us to visit the model of Pham Dang Thien and Pham Dang Tien in Quynh Hue village, Doan Huu Dung, Vice Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Thong Nhat commune, said that this is a typical production model of the locality. The two brothers not only enrich themselves but also create jobs for 20 workers with an income of 8-9 million VND/person/month and actively contribute to building the local movement.

Ten years ago, with the desire to develop the agricultural economy , Mr. Tien and Mr. Thien pooled their capital to buy a farm from a household. They built and rebuilt barns and selected livestock suitable for the market. Up to now, on an area of ​​1.5 hectares of land, they have invested about 30 billion VND to build barns, automatic feeding and watering systems, ventilation fans, 30 incubators... to raise 40,000 laying hens and 2,000 roosters. Every day, the farm collects about 20,000 eggs, and the hatched chickens are sold in many places across the country.

To have the success they have today, Pham Dang Thien and Pham Dang Tien had to spend a lot of effort and money.

With this scale of farm, each year they earn about 40 billion VND, after deducting expenses, they earn billions of VND in profit. Talking about farming experience, Mr. Thien said, the most important thing is to have a firm grasp of the process and diseases of laying hens to prevent them properly. Choosing the breed of chicken is also important, it must follow the taste of customers...

Gia Loc farmers always know how to exploit their advantages to get rich right on their homeland. Many agricultural production models are not new but bring sustainable economic efficiency. For many years, Mr. Dinh Van Chuoc in Bui Thuong village (Le Loi commune) has been diligently growing vegetables on an area of ​​9 sao. Every year, depending on market demand, he rotates the planting of kohlrabi and cabbage.

"I always pay attention to market demand to grow appropriately so that economic efficiency is high. I also work with members of the Le Loi Commune Agricultural Service Cooperative to connect and consume vegetables for farmers with an area of ​​20-30 hectares per crop. Thanks to that, my family is recognized as a good producer and business household at the district level," said Mr. Chuoc.

Many forms of support

To promote the movement, every year the Gia Loc District Farmers' Association launches a campaign to attract many members and farmers to register to strive to become good producers and traders at all levels. The District Association assigns targets to the association's bases in conjunction with year-end evaluation and rewards, and assigns cadres to closely follow the base to have timely guidance measures.

One difficulty for members in economic development is the need for capital. Realizing that, the Gia Loc District Farmers' Association stands as a guarantee with the Social Policy Bank for 2,057 households to borrow with an outstanding debt of nearly 141 billion VND, exploiting the funds of the association at all levels to lend capital to hundreds of households with an amount of tens of billions of VND...

In Gia Loc, farmers' enrichment models are diverse, from raising livestock, poultry, aquaculture to growing vegetables...

Developing the economy and getting rich in the context of increasingly high market and customer demands as today, the district association also has orientations for farmers to change their production methods accordingly. The district association supports households to organize production in a specialized direction, apply new techniques, invest in machinery, expand production cooperation, apply digital transformation, and put agricultural products on e-commerce platforms. Coordinate to make traceability stamps for black grapes, melons, cabbage, poultry and waterfowl breeds... Thereby, helping businesses and farming households promote product brands, expand consumption markets, and gradually participate in international trade.

The movement of farmers competing in production and business has contributed to the formation of concentrated commodity production areas in a safe direction. To connect and synchronize production, processing and consumption, some households have represented producers, discussed and signed economic contracts with enterprises to create production areas, promote the strengths of the unit, and gradually build product brands and geographical indications for typical agricultural products.

Farmers not only enrich themselves but also create jobs for many local workers with a fairly good income.

With such diverse measures, over the past 3 years, 63,817 farming households in Gia Loc district have registered to achieve the title of excellent production and business at 4 levels. The evaluation results show that 50,160 households have achieved this title, accounting for 78.6% of registered households. The income of households with good production and business is increasing, 15,950 households have profits of 500 million VND/year or more, accounting for 31.8%. Gia Loc is one of the districts with many good production and business households in the province.
