In the export market, Vietnamese rice prices remained stable. 5% broken rice was at $395/ton, 25% broken rice at $371/ton, 100% broken rice at $339/ton. In the first 6 months of the year, Vietnam exported 4.72 million tons of rice, surpassing Thailand to hold the second position in the world , just behind India. The export market has been expanded to many African and South Asian countries, helping to reduce dependence on the Philippines. However, abundant supply from India is creating downward pressure on prices, challenging Vietnam's export profits.
