Heavy rain and strong winds due to the influence of storm Tra Mi caused the water level of Vu Giang river to rise early this afternoon, crossing DT609 route to a depth of 0.7m, causing traffic congestion at km33+100, in Dai Dong commune (Dai Loc district). Many trees fell onto the road.
On this route, there were several landslides of rocks and trees from the slope. The most serious was at km68+300 (Ma Cooih commune, Dong Giang district), the slope collapsed and spilled rocks and soil onto the road, making it impossible for vehicles to pass.
At the time the leaders of the Department of Transport went to inspect the site, the rain had stopped so the water level of the Vu Gia River had receded, vehicles could pass through the route km33+100. At the most serious landslide point of the DT609 route (Ma Cooih commune), Dong Phong Consulting and Construction Joint Stock Company (the contractor in charge of management and regular maintenance) mobilized human resources and machinery to the scene to clear the site to ensure traffic flow before 5:00 p.m. the same day.
[ VIDEO ] - The working group of the Department of Transport inspected and directed the repair of landslides on route DT609:
At the scene, Mr. Van Anh Tuan has directed the road management unit to continue to arrange equipment to clear the remaining landslides tomorrow, ensuring smooth traffic. Pay attention to clearing drainage ditches so that the flow does not tear the roadbed.
The leaders of the Department of Transport also directed the Quang Nam Traffic Infrastructure Management Center to request the investor of the An Diem - A So road project (part of the DT609 route) to request the contractor who is constructing the leveling project to ensure traffic at the points where the roadbed has collapsed and rocks have spilled onto the road so that people can travel conveniently and safely.
