Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh receives Secretary of Shandong Provincial Party Committee, China

On September 25 at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Comrade Lam Vu, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Shandong Province (China), on the occasion of his visit and work in Vietnam.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated and welcomed Comrade Lam Vu on his first visit to Vietnam in his capacity as Secretary of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee; this is also the second consecutive year that Shandong province has sent a high-ranking delegation to visit and work in Vietnam, demonstrating the friendship and special importance of Shandong province to the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in general and to Vietnamese localities in particular.

Appreciating the long-standing cultural and historical traditions of Shandong province, the Prime Minister congratulated Shandong on its important development achievements, maintaining its position as the third largest economic power in China, focusing on developing science and technology and making many positive contributions to China's continuous development.

Sincerely thanking Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for spending his precious time receiving the delegation, Shandong Provincial Party Secretary Lam Vu warmly congratulated Vietnam on its great achievements in socio-economic development in recent times and affirmed that Shandong highly values ​​the friendship and substantive cooperation in all fields with Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities, is determined to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the high-level common perception, and continue to make practical contributions to the development of the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries in the new period.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the two sides expressed their delight at the positive developments in Vietnam-China relations in all fields, in which local cooperation has been vibrant and increasingly substantive.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the cooperation results between ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam and Shandong in recent times, especially the increased exchanges and contacts at all levels, investment and trade cooperation is a bright spot, many large, high-tech enterprises of Shandong province are investing and producing effectively in Vietnam.

Affirming that the Party, State and Government of Vietnam always attach great importance to and give top priority to developing the Vietnam-China relationship, supporting and being ready to create all favorable conditions for enhancing cooperation between localities of the two countries, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared about the event 60 years ago when President Ho Chi Minh visited Shandong; wishing the province and localities of Vietnam to promote the tradition of friendship, further promote exchanges and contacts at all levels, exchange development experiences, promote training of cadres and human resources in areas where Shandong has strengths; promote the exploitation of potentials and advantages of each side, create new breakthroughs in areas of substantive cooperation; prioritize increasing the import of Vietnamese goods, especially high-quality agricultural products.

The Prime Minister suggested that Shandong province share its experience in implementing the Free Trade Zone and market facilitation policies to create conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to better access the market; encourage capable enterprises, representing the scientific and technological level of Shandong, to increase high-quality investment, associated with the transfer of advanced technology and training of high-quality human resources for Vietnam, especially in the electronics, high-tech, low-emission and environmentally friendly industries.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that Shandong province, as a locality with a rich culture and history, the homeland of famous thinkers such as Confucius and Mencius, strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese localities in cultural tourism; enhance people-to-people exchanges, especially between the young generation, to enhance understanding, foster friendship, and contribute to the development of relations between the two Parties and the two countries.

Agreeing with the directions of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Shandong Provincial Party Secretary Lam Vu introduced the situation and development prospects of Shandong province; affirming that the potential for cooperation between Shandong and Vietnamese localities is still vast.

Comrade Lam Vu hopes to strengthen friendly relations with Vietnamese localities; the two sides will continue to promote and improve the quality of cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, and production, while expanding cooperation in new fields such as green development and digital economy, thereby adding new growth drivers for substantive and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides; enhance cultural, tourism, educational and artistic exchanges, coordinate the implementation of people-to-people exchange activities, especially between the young generation, contributing to consolidating and deepening the China-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, bringing practical benefits to localities and people of both sides.
