Removing obstacles for Dak Nong Aluminum Electrolysis Plant Project

On the afternoon of August 25, comrade Le Trong Yen, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with Tran Hong Quan Metallurgy Company Limited.

The meeting aimed to resolve urgent difficulties and problems related to the Dak Nong Aluminum Electrolysis Plant Project.

At the meeting, Tran Hong Quan Metallurgy Company Ltd. proposed that Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee promptly resolve problems related to the Dak Nong Aluminum Electrolysis Plant Project.

In particular, the Company recommends that relevant departments and branches urgently develop a Resolution regulating preferential policies and investment support in the province, in order to submit it to the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council for approval at the nearest session.

In addition, the unit proposed to the province some other contents such as: Resolving some problems related to land sublease area, construction permit, land rent exemption procedures, land area granted; proposing to manage and exploit Lake No. 3 Nhan Co; supporting and guiding contractors to carry out necessary procedures to soon be granted Work Permits according to regulations...

In particular, the project investor also recommended that the province have solutions related to overcoming the landslide problem at Nhan Co Industrial Park while waiting for the authorities to continue investigating and consolidating the case file.

Accordingly, allowing the investor and the Project Management Board of 3 Lam Dong provinces to urgently implement troubleshooting, avoid the risk of further landslides, and ensure safety for equipment installation and operation of the Factory.

Concluding the working session, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen affirmed that the locality always pays attention to and creates favorable conditions and accompanies to remove difficulties and obstacles for investors.

He suggested that the Department of Finance should study drafts related to support policies for the Provincial People's Committee to refer to and develop appropriate policies. At the same time, it agreed to separate them into specific resolutions with the spirit of shortening, simplifying, ensuring compliance with procedures and regulations.

The Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned departments and branches to implement and resolve issues according to their functions and tasks, with the determination to have the first aluminum products by the second quarter of 2026. Thereby, contributing to 8% growth in 2025 and double-digit growth in the following years for Lam Dong.

Dak Nong Aluminum Electrolysis Plant Project, invested by Tran Hong Quan Metallurgy Company Limited, started construction in September 2014, on a total area of ​​129.42 hectares in Nhan Co Industrial Park.

The project has a total investment capital of VND18,423.64 billion, with a designed capacity of 450,000 tons of aluminum per year. This is the first aluminum metal production project in Vietnam, the final production and deep processing stage of the industrial chain of bauxite mining - aluminum processing and aluminum metal production.
