In the 2024-2025 school year, Hanoi has over 11,000 candidates registering for specialized 10th grade, including 2 schools: Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Hue High School and 2 public high schools with specialized blocks: Chu Van An High School and Son Tay High School.

According to data from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year, specialized schools will enroll students in specialized classes in literature, math, physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography, IT, English, French, Chinese, and Russian.

Of which, the English major has the most registered candidates (over 3,000 candidates), followed by literature (over 1,400), chemistry (over 1,200), information technology (over 1,100)...

Candidates applying to Hanoi's specialized schools are required to take three general subjects: literature, math, English and a specialized subject.

The standard score for specialized subjects is calculated by the total score of 3 subjects according to the general exam (coefficient 1) plus the specialized subject (coefficient 2) plus priority and incentive points (if any).
