According to statistics from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, in the first 9 months of 2025 (from December 15, 2024 to September 15, 2025), the total transport volume of the Vietnamese aviation market is estimated to reach more than 64 million passengers, an increase of nearly 11% over the same period in 2024; cargo volume reached more than 1 million tons, an increase of nearly 19%.
Of which, international transport recorded impressive growth with more than 35 million passengers (up more than 13%) and more than 946,000 tons of cargo (up nearly 23%). Domestic transport reached 29 million passengers (up more than 7%) and more than 169,000 tons of cargo (up 0.2%).
Vietnamese airlines have carried nearly 44 million passengers (an increase of more than 8%), of which domestic passengers reached 29 million and international passengers nearly 15 million.
In order to maintain stability and create momentum for the aviation market development in the final months of this year, a representative of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam said that the Authority will support airlines to improve the efficiency of fleet exploitation, increase supply on flight routes to meet travel demand at the end of the year and prepare for the Lunar New Year 2026.
In addition, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam will continue to coordinate and allocate reasonable take-off and landing times at airports, coordinate with foreign aviation authorities to expand international operations; promote market research and forecasting as a basis for policy advice.
