Bao Thang Forest Ranger Department received and handed over 2 monkeys

According to information from the Bao Thang District Forest Protection Department, on May 15, the unit received two monkeys from local people. This is a species listed in the Vietnam Red Book that needs to be protected.

On May 15, Mr. Truong Van Dao in Vang village, Xuan Giao commune, Bao Thang district, Lao Cai discovered two monkeys in his family's garden, so he captured them and handed them over to the Bao Thang district Forest Protection Department. It is known that this monkey is named (Macacamulatta), the female weighs 4 kg and the male weighs 5 kg. This monkey is a rare and precious forest animal listed in Appendix IIB according to Decree No. 32/2006/ND-CP of the Government on the management of endangered and rare forest plants and animals.

People handed over the monkey to the authorities.

Immediately after that, Bao Thang District Forest Protection Department coordinated with Hoang Lien Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Living Creatures to complete the procedures and hand over to the Center for care and conservation in accordance with the law.
